  1. Who knows, maybe a resin caster out there will take a liking to the old Jeep...would be neat to see variations of this available... the funky early Gladiator front would be neat to see.
  2. It's a modified version of Moebius' '61 Ventura...stock car parts added, Catalina trim.
  3. Got the Moebius '61 Catalina stock car today in the mail..looks nice at first glance.
  4. Not going to happen w/ the GTX. AMT has their '69 that gets reissued periodically, regardless of any inaccuracies it may have, wouldn't make any financial sense to tool up another.
  5. I got mine from the Modelhaus, and have the original MPC kits. But it would be nice to see a modern-tooled one..I don't see it happening either, though.
  6. Oops..typo..I was talking about the snowmobile, not the snowplow, as seen in the recent '78 GMC pickup (the pickup is of Monogram origin).
  7. Revell hasn't done a Camaro update in years ('13 ZL1 was the last), so I wouldn't say they are stuck on them. I'd love to see them do a Hellcat and a Demon, but they don't seem to be willing to spend money on modern subjects beyond simple snap kits like the Mustangs, etc.
  8. Most of the TD stuff is so strange and out there I would think they would appeal to a very small market niche, and maybe they have oversaturated the market...
  9. Actually, I don't think it has been announced that the snowmobile will be with the Jeep kit...all it says on Tower Hobbies is '1980 Jeep Honcho Ice Patrol'...could be just new decals.. the snowmobile was with the old Ice Patrol Chevy pickup kit.
  10. It makes sense with the Honcho, though.. Not a modern truck either.
  11. Yes, different car..built by the So Cal Speed Shop..would make an interesting kit subject. http://www.rodauthority.com/news/so-cal-speed-shop-building-zz-tops-billy-gibbons-wiskeyrunner/
  12. Can't believe there would be much demand for such an oddball kit.
  13. Huh?? The '70 R/T was already announced for 3rd quarter...a while back. The '69 Daytona is getting a reissue in the 4th quarter.
  14. Motor City makes great stuff..I have several of their resin kits in my stash...'72 Ranchero, '70 1/2 Falcon, '69 Torino coupe, '68 Ford Galaxie 4dr ht, etc. Got to build them eventually.. got to get some more..
  15. Ah, yeah...the Revell Chevy pickup, not the ex-Monogram one.
  16. That's what I thought...I've seen pics of the Chevy Ice Patrol, looks like a neat kit. I have the Jeep Honcho '80s or 90s issue molded in black...no chrome, decent but pretty basic kit...
  17. I'm up for a couple of the 442s, will have to see what the Bronco variation entails...
  18. Here are a couple of threads on the subject. Basically, Photobucket has changed their terms of service for their plans and external linking.
  19. Not to mention all of the licensing for the sponsor decals. But they could fake it as a 'Big Ollie'...
  20. The Olds is the '85 442 with the option of building the FE3-X concept car version that was discussed back when the '83 Hurst/Olds kit came out. The '78 GMC pickup is currently available with a snowplow, I wonder if this will be a reissue sans snowplow... Odd about the Jeep Ice Patrol---googling Revell Ice Patrol comes up with box art for a '78 Chevy/GMC step side...were there two Ice Patrol kits?
  21. I had a few decent hobby shops in Phoenix, haven't found much here in the Cleveland area so far..visited one near me (Al's Hobby in Bedford, OH) and it's 90% trains with a few model cars (maybe a dozen) and some paint. There is a place in Willoughby but I haven't taken the time to check it out. There are Hobby Lobbys around but I avoid them.
  22. I discovered today that the Big Boy restaurant chain still exists, and the only two locations in Ohio are within a few miles of me....haven't eaten at one in probably 25 years, they were a favorite chain from childhood....
  23. It's not just hobby shops, though...physical retail is changing dramatically across the spectrum...look at all the closures of old-line department store chains like Sears and JC Penney and all the smaller mall retailers in recent years. Online retail grows and grows, I know in recent years I've really ramped up my use of Amazon Prime for all sorts of things, just hard to beat the convenience of a few mouse clicks on my phone/tablet/laptop and boxes of content showing up at the door in a day or two, even Sunday deliveries... Likewise for online model vendors and eBay.
  24. The Revell 77 MC would give you the correct dash...I played around with this a few years ago and recall the MC interior tub to be too deep for the Laguna body...I've thought about using the interior tub and chassis from a Johan '75 Cutlass snap kit or promo, it may fit better.
  25. I remember those awful plastic axles..and MPC's darn plastic front pins that always broke...
