Clean, clean, clean! One question on the Studebaker: Are those the taillight lenses you got with the kit? They're from the Jo-Han '62 Rambler.
Yes they came with the box, maby they used the same in both kits.

Thanks for getting into this kit - I've always wondered if it was based on an actual boat; looks like it will need some big changes to represent the real thing (and I'll probably do the wood with paint on the deck and paint the hull white anyway).
About the engine: Is that a Chrysler flathead 6, and if so could the 1941 Plymouth engine be used for more detail?
The engine is a Cris Craft 6 cyl. it's in the box. Even with orginalengine it's VERY tight in the motorcompartment.

Very nice! What kind of glue is used to bond the veneer to the plastic?

Do you fill the seams or just sand down ? Stain at all or just some clear ?
The seams is filled with White Putty (Tamiya) and sanding, after that just clear ( 20 thin layers) .

Brilliant build! Very clean.
The XKE is one of the most beautiful body shapes ever created. When you remove all the ugly bumpers and chrome do-dads it truly becomes a pure flowing design.
What color did you use for the body?
It´s autocolor in a spraycan, i think it is a Ford color, the name is "Champagne".
