  1. Welcome back to the hobby, you will find a lot of great info in this site and people willing to answer questions.

The next event (show/contest/swap meet) I know of is -

    March 17th - Kit collectors Swap meet - https://allevents.in/buena park/kit-collectors-model-show/200025929786819

May 5th -  The So Cal Open in Chatsworth  - http://www.laskiscale.com/model-car-shows.html

    Sept 28th - Cruisin For a Cure in Costa Mesa (also a 1:1 Car show) - https://cruisinforacure.com/

    and

Nov. 10th - Spirit of Speed #9 at the NHRA Museum in Pomona - https://www.facebook.com/groups/522613537811947/?locale=ru_RU

There are also IPMS shows in the area, but I don't have all the info on those.

There are a few others, just have not seen information on them for 2024, but watch the "contests and Shows" section of the forum and they will most likely show up there.

  4. Well, Disregard the previous post. I have just received information that the 2016 event may well have been the last. Both for the model contest and the 1:1 show. Sounds like the whole event is done.

If anything changes, I'll post it,

Thank you all who have supported this show for the last 4 years.

Time to work on something new I guess.

  5. Just got the flyers, all the information is there but please feel free to PM me or email me (see flyer) should you have any other questions. One thing not mentioned on the flyer is that we will have vendor tables available this year, again, PM me or email me if you are interested and I will get back to you with the particulars. Hope to see all of you there.

Model Cars Magazine will be there to photograph the show for possible publication.

Just a few short week away so finish up those builds.

  6. Art,

Great job to you and Lisa for pulling this off with the short amount of time you had to prepare. It was a low key and relaxing event and I had a fun time hanging out with everyone. I am glad I was able to participate in the first show. Keep me posted on next year.

I took some photos as well but don't have an account yet for one of the hosting sites, hope to have that set up soon and will post my pictures as soon as I can.

  7. Thanks, Chris. wish you could make it out.

Brad, thanks for that. Hopefully we can do this again next year and you can make it out.

I appreciate it, Rusty. Look forward to seeing you. I just hope we can do half as well as you do with your shows.

Bumping this, just two weeks away now and looking forward to the show.

Art, Thanks for the compliment, you are very kind. You are going to do great, you have a lot of folks supporting you, have fun with this.

  8. Not yet Clayton, organizing committee meetings have not begun yet, but should soon. I can tell you the model show will be the 3rd Saturday in September (September 17th, 2016). I will also be looking for vendors this year.

I'll post something as soon as I have more information.

Thanks for asking and hope to see you there again this year.

  9. What a fun show. Had a really good time.

The swap meet had lots of bargains to be had, found the two kits I was looking for. :)

Thanks to the entire show staff for making us feel so welcome.

I also want to Think Danno, and " the gal that lets him hang out with her" for being such welcoming hosts. It's always a pleasure to see you guys. You're the best!

Brad, Great to see you, and thanks for the name tags, it was nice to put a face to the names of the other board members I hadn't previously met.

John T. and Chris, sorry we didn't get to visit much, but it was great to see you both.

Oh!, and count me in for next year!
