I use a little of the Clear Yellow used for marker lights mixed with a silver. If done right you get the slightly yellowed look of a newer Holley.

I have used SpazStick chrome. It is good but fragile like AlClad. It comes in a rattle can, which may or may not be good, but it is about $10/can. It also magnifies any blemish in your prep work. I did a bumper and it brought out every line of the sanding I had done. I ended up BMFing it. I plan to try a gloss black base and see how that works.
