  5. Work continues oon thevside wheel covers.I cut the slots andcdriled the holes out od .20 styrene and used cut down ammo cannisters from a Tabmiya 88 for then side louvers.
  6. Making the side wheel covers out of sheet styrene.Mocking it up to check for fit and details will be added later.

  8. Recently started the wooden Model Shipways Harriet Lane solid hull wooden ship kit.Since the kit only provides for half paddle wheels,I decided to make them out of .80 dtyrene with mahogany paddles.I elected to motorize the paddle wheels with part of an A M T slot car chassis.Here is a pic.

Recently started my Model Shipways solid hull Harriet Lane.It is a a Civil War Era paddle steamer that I decided to modify so that the paddles would rotate.Since the kit onky includes half paddles,I made the paddle wheels out of .80 styrene with mahogany paddles.I used part of an A MT 1/24 slot car chassis for the running gear.Here is a vid clip. 20151214_113349.mp4
  10. Yes I like to put a dab of Ca on each knot really fixes them in place and prevents sagging.
  11. Cant beat the look of mahogany planks!The ship reminds me of the Arresania Lwtina Swift I built some time ago.My Billings boats Ersatzia has the mahogany look.

  13. The old stick and balsa classic that i added red scallops and a spinner.i used monokote instead of tissue because masking tape would tear the tissue.
  14. I did not have the deadeyes for the SHrouds so I made my own. I cut a dowel rod into sections and drilled out the holes for the rope.
