    Greetings GSL Championship Enthusiast!

The Twenty-Third GSL International Scale Vehicle Championship and Convention is less than a year away!

The GSL Trustees have prepared another great event. Please check out the GSL Review/Preview just published: http://www.gslchampionship.org/News/GSLReview-Preview.pdf

In addition to the best competition anywhere, we’ve got three days of seminars, Museum tours, a Trade Show, the Museum-benefit auction and the Sunday morning Awards Breakfast. You’d have a great time!

Please check back often at the “Late Breaking News†for the very latest news on the Twenty-Third GSL Championship and Convention: http://www.gslchampionship.org/News/news.html

If you have any questions, please e-mail Mark S Gustavson at msgsl@xmission.com or Paul Anagnostopolous at paul@windfall.com

We hope to see you in Salt Lake City next April 28 to May 1.

  2. Dear GSL Enthusiast:

We are pleased to announce that the Twenty-Second GSL International Scale Vehicle Championship and Convention, presented by the International Model Car Builders’ Museum, will be held at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel in Salt Lake City (the same location as in 2007). As you may know, the Championship no longer mails documents to everyone because of the high cost of printing and mailing.

We’ve just published three web documents so you can learn more about GSL-XXII: the GSL Convention Manual, a picture-rich “GSL Highlights,†and the tentative GSL -XXII Schedule. These documents contain all the information on the twenty-second Championship, and can be found on the website: http:/www.GSLChamiponship.org and then click on “Late Breaking News†where you’ll find all three documents under the February 1, 2009 date. The PRE-REGISTRATION and PRE-ORDER forms are also there as links.

We urge you to download and read these important documents about the upcoming GSL Championship.

    See you here in April!

    Cheers,

    Mark S. Gustavson

We’ve planned the best and most collegial competition anywhere, along with three days of seminars, Museum tours, evening activities, the Museum-benefit auction, a Trade Show, and the Awards Breakfast. There will also be a special display of the Best of Show winners going back to GSL-I in 1979!

Please e-mail me with any questions or comments that you might have.

    Cheers,

    Mark S. Gustavson

  5. I just shot HoK Cinnamon Pearl basecoat today. I thinned it with Klean-Strip Virgin Lacquer Thinner (primer grade). The good folks at Black Gold said that was fine stuff, and it appears to have worked well.*

    * Use at your own risk. Test on scrap body first. Etc., blah, blah.

  6. It’s the kind of problem we want, I guess. But those already registered for GSL-XXI have taken all of the available rooms at the corporate rate: wow – we’re going to have a lot of enthusiastic modelers at GSL! In fact, the Sheraton hotel informs us that GSL has over run its room allotment by 22%. And, there’s no more room at Sheraton (unless you want to pay the full rate of $189, and even those rooms are just about gone).

Therefore, we’ve found two motels, relatively close to the Sheraton (within a block’s walk, approximately), that have rooms at about the same cost as offered by the Sheraton. If you still haven’t made your reservations for GSL, you can call the Best Western (located at 154 West 600 South in Salt Lake), at 802-521-2930 ($90 for double occupancy, with tax), or call Super 8 (located at 200 West and 616 South in Salt Lake City), at 801-532-0808 ($69 plus room tax).

We urge you to reserve your rooms at either the Best Western or Super 8 (no need to identify yourself as associated with GSL) as soon as possible! If you have any questions or problems, contact me (Mark S. Gustavson) at msgsl@xmission.com
