It's a cool kit, not worth $4000 in any condition though. Maybe $40-60 for a decent complete, unbuilt kit. It was first released in the early '60's as a double kit and it included a custom '32 Ford sedan. The Street Rod series version you have is from the '70's. Cool find!

Thanks guys!

I only finished one! Revell '29 Ford roadster A/Altered.

After hearing the news last week, I bought another kit. Now I have three. Actually, I probably would have bought more of them anyway, even without the rumor. One can't have too many coupes! Maybe I should get a fourth kit...

Does anyone reproduce the decal sheet from the original issue AMT '32 Ford coupe?

Wow! Two months just flew by and nothing has changed since early August! I'm bringing these back to the bench soon, so stay tuned!

Killer! Great details and paint work!

Progress has been glacially slow, but I'm still working on them. The highboy now has a 2 speed rear from the '41 woodie and a lowered front end with brakes from the Blue Bandito. I thinned out the inside of the resin body and the new Revell kit's stripped interior almost fits, just needs a little more tweaking.

Great work so far! That rear axle just works so well with this kit! I'll be waiting at the starting line with my '29 roadster, ready for a match race!

After what you did with the sister roadster kit I can't wait to see what you do with these. The topless Sport Coupe idea sounds sweet!
I think the topless sport coupe will be a unique addition to the shelf, I don't think I've ever seen any done in scale.

I quickly test fitted the new interior panels in the resin body, which is based on the old Monogram body and it looks like it should fit ok with a little trimming here and there. The new kit is 1/25th and the old one is 1/24th, but a side by side comparison shows that they're very close to the same size.

The Ford model with the solid window frames that are on the doors and crank up Windows is a Cabriolet(cab-re-o-lay).There are plenty of pictures on line for project research if needed.Good luck. This should be fun to watch!
Tom,
The cabriolet has a fold down top. The sport coupe has a similar appearance, but the top is fixed in place. It has the same windshield frame/posts and doors as a 5 window.

Oh yeah!

That's one fine lookin' '60's style '36!

This is way too cool Dennis! Great work on that engine!

Great build! That blown Ardun flathead is awesome!

I love this! Eveything is right on the money! I've actually been planning a '32 Build using almost the same color and parts.

I just got one of the new '30 Coupes a few days ago and started tearing into it today. I'm building one with mostly kit parts and a second one using leftovers and a Jimmy Flintstone body. The first one is going to be a bare steel hiboy on a '32 frame with no top insert and wooden top bows exposed. I have a flathead and S.C.O.T. blower for this, or maybe an Olds Rocket. The second one will use the A frame and sbc. I'm going to decapitate the Flintstone body, leaving the top of the doors and windshield frame intact to look like a sport coupe with the canvas top and wood structure removed.
Here's the first one, with a more correct roof opening.

When I opened this my jaw hit the floor!
Aaron, this is seriously fantastic and my new favorite version of this kit. The colors, the styling, the proportions - it's got 'em all and at the same time it just looks all-business.
PS: The magnesium finish on the wheels is superb! Please tell how you achieved it.
Thanks Dennis! I always enjoy seeing your builds!

Very very nice indeed! You have captured the look and the feel of the era almost perfectly, which is about my highest praise. Well done and model on!
Thanks! I always try to make my stuff as period correct as I can!

Is that nailhead and headers included in the kit?
Yes it is. I swapped the front cover for the one from AMT's '37 Chevy, because it has a front mounted fuel pump. The kit has a modern automatic, which I cut off and replaced with a more period correct Hydramatic. The headers are modified kit pieces. I also raised the engine mounts about 1/8".

I bought the kit tonight, it actually has the custom stacked headlight housings from the original, and what looks like a late '50's style Desoto grille bar. The wild custom rear extensions and the boomerang taillight housings are still missing though.
