There is a person in the 3D Model Facebook page that is working on a full detailed version. Currently he has the body that started for slot car racing.
Thanks, Len. What is the exact name of the Facebook page? I didn't find a page named "3D Model".

Four model years old and nothing yet? Are the big guys waiting for the Z06? Nothing by anyone in 3D?

Definitely some mighty fine creative work. I have a question of the blue w/yellow top '54. Does it have '55 headlights molded on it? That hood over the light and the peak down the side does not look like a 54.
Thank you, I am so glad I kept these! I dug around the internet and found the original brochure that I had used for the business coupe to hardtop conversion. The headlight shape is the way the 54 brochure showed it:

Thanks to all for your kind comments and contributions. The ones above were some of my favorites but I still enjoy looking at them all and communicating with teenage me from almost 70 years ago. Maybe some of you will enjoy these, too:
Above - Still using leftovers from the '54 (and a '52 snuck in, too) Ford brochure.
Above - And some mild custom work on a classier FoMoCo product that was difficult to improve on!
Below - Finally, the last of the scanned brochure 'scissors and glue' art, my perspective attempt resulting in a couple of strange color combo two-tone Rocket 88's.
I did DRAW some cars, also. If anyone is interested, I can post some of those.
Regards!!

Anyone going to the Third Annual Harvester Homecoming? A great chance to love up on a whole bunch of IH trucks and see the place where they were conceived!

Thanks for the info. The thing that strikes me as being odd was that the NHRA inspection got upset about the concrete in the spare but ran this in a stock class with a non stock turbo charger.
But that was John's neat trick. He convinced the Scout Chief Engineer to list, with the Automobile Manufacturers Association, the turbo (and some other goodies) as Scout stock. At that time, the NHRA used AMA specs to verify stock class cars. Learning those tricks was a great benefit to John when he opened his own shop. During a tour of his shop in 1996, he already had an LS1 months before it was introduced in the 1997 Corvette.

John Lingenfelter ScoutFrom Charlie Lingenfelter: “John raced a 1962 2wd International Scout with a turbocharged 4 cylinder. It was an old orange Indiana & Michigan meter reading vehicle.. I believe this picture was taken at a Milan Michigan NHRA Points Meet in the fall of 1969. Note the 7″ slicks. This Scout would pull the wheels off the ground as it left the starting line. Not bad for a U/Stock race car.”David Palmeter: I had the great pleasure to work with John at IH Truck Engineering. My favorite story - to improve traction, John initially ran with the spare on the tailgate. NHRA made him take it off when they found out it was filled with concrete!More here: https://palmeter.com/trucks/

1965 IH Loadstar Fire Truck - Interesting front end, didn't do much for in-town maneuverability!

Clever, Russell!
I did a horizontal section job on the vert and a section and chop on the two-door:

Thanks, Don. The Cadillac was one of the cleanest I did, the '53 Chevy below got a later model wraparound windshield and new rear window, along with a lowering job and Olds wheel cover. You can see a hint of an exhaust pipe through the rear bumper. I am not sure what prompted the red skirts! Using the One-Fifty Business Coupe as the base got me that custom 'de-chromed' look (and a cheap-looking rubber stone guard on the rear fender).
The lowered Pontiac got the front bumper and front parking light corner trim, along with the taillight and wheel cover from the second Caddy brochure that provided the continental kit and extended bumper in the original post. A second Pontiac brochure provided the extended skirt trim.
Although I did do some perspective customs, I did a lot more of the direct side view mods. Finding brochures with those side views and matching scales (remember, we didn't have scanning way back then) was the big trick.

After school in the mid-50's, I would get home from school and rummage through my stack of car brochures, grab a shirt cardboard that came home from the laundry in Dad's shirts and do some cut-and-paste art. Since each creation took at least two brochures, I had to do some fast talking to get them in multiples.
The simple one below has the hood ornament removed, is lowered and has a continental kit made from the side trim. Note that the rear bumper extension is a piece from the second brochure pasted over the original. I still have dozens of my teen art pieces from 65 or more years ago.
Did anyone else experiment with cut-and-paste art?

Hi Len, Not aware of a current 66 Corvette project, but I just sold some Corvette items to Matt and Dawn, the new owners of Spotlight Hobbies, last week and it included this Perry's Resin 65 conversion. The seats are not quite right for a 66 but the small block hood has the 'one year only' 66 Corvette emblem. Not sure when they will get it in their catalog or on their eBay list, but you could contact them if you are interested. Regards, David

To answer your questions. Yes, it can be 3d printed. Yes, I have printed Hum 3d cars. I only pay the minimum for them , make them 3d printable and print them out on one of my 3d resin printers.
Thanks for your response, do you have photos of any prints?

That and the kits in the display cases were all made by the Late Bill Eichhorn. That 4300 logging truck is highly detailed! and needs to be seen in person as do all of his IH builds
Just to clarify, yes, Bill was an excellent model builder. The trucks mentioned below are the ones he built, mostly using resin castings from his Pinecrest Models Company, he was a true master modeler:
Built Models – Bill Eichhorn – 1961 – 2012
Honoring a friend too soon departedBill was a close friend and excellent modeler in several hobbies. Model trucks were his major building focus but he also built cars, trains, ships and planes occasionally. In the ’80’s, he started, along with his father, a model truck and car resin conversion kit company called Pinecrest Scale Models, long since out of business. Listed below are some of his models that his father gave me after Bill’s passing.
1910 International Auto Wagon – Revell 1:32 Scale
1978 International Trailer Toter – Resin 1:25 Scale
1978 International Tractor – ABF Resin 1:25 Scale
1984 International F-9300 Tractor and Livestock Trailer - Resin 1:25 Scale
1990 International 8300 Aero Straight Truck – Resin 1:25 Scale
1990 International Dump Truck – Resin 1:50 Scale
2006 International 4400RV – Plastic Toy Modified 1:24 Scale
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The models below are the models built by me (David Palmeter). I was fortunate to be the guy at International Trucks in charge of Product Information so I worked with the model companies when they wanted to do an International model, in return, I got very early test shots:
1:25 Scale – Ertl 8001 Modified
1984 International 42/4370 Logger
- Built by David Palmeter
- Converted 4270 kit before the 4370 kit was released
- Power steering and air conditioning added
- Complete piping and hoses added
- AMT log trailer fully detailed1:25 Scale – Ertl 8000
1972 International CO-4070A
- Built by David Palmeter from test shot parts
- First EVER Ertl plastic kit
- First EVER International plastic truck kit
- First EVER Ertl International kit built outside Ertl
- Has details not released on the production kit
- They had tooled nut detail to allow poseable
steering but they were troublesome to mold
so production kits don’t have them

1973 International 4270
- Built by David Palmeter - Test Shot Cab and Hood
- Built on CO-4070A chassis

The Hum3D website has hundreds of 3D programs for cars. You can buy this 2020 Corvette 3D print-ready for 300 Euros. https://hum3d.com/3d-models/chevrolet-corvette-c8-2020/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Aug-20-2019
Has anyone tried to print a Hum3D car? I realize it is a complex project but being the first to sell a new car, even if it is a hollow lump with closed windows would seem to have some selling potential. For 600 euros, you can get a detailed interior.

Back in the '70's, my job at International Trucks included supplying data to toy and model manufacturers. Ertl was one we worked with frequently but time and distance have clouded my memory concerning one of the models in my collection.
I remember that Ertl wanted to do a 1:64 model of our new setback axle cabover, the 9700, so they showed up with the model resin prototype proposal shown below (#3). The model was so poor that we rejected it.
Here is where the story fades. The #2 prototype casting model was a much better model, and is also in my collection. Even though it has tires with Ertl logos, I do not remember that it made it into production. Also, I can't find any evidence of its existence on the internet. So the question is, does anyone have a 1:64 Ertl 9700 in their collection or have you ever seen one or have any suggestions about a good forum that has 1:64 truck experts? I have tried one forum without much luck. Thanks for your help!

Nice job on the AMT - now here is a real project for you, Ismael! You can do a diecast for your father in 1:24 or 1:18 using this frequently ripped off Chinese 1950 Chevy. This is one in 1:24 that I cleaned up a little by getting rid of some of the excess trinkets (sun visor, bumper extensions, fog lights). All you have to do is update the rear fenders to '51 and a few dozen other upgrades. Good luck!

Excellent, now I don't feel so bad about the 1961 Ford Styline First Release that I am still working on (sorta)!
