  1. I am re-blown away.

To this point, people like Juha Airio and Alex Kustov, among a few others, have been thought of as the gold standard among kit builders. I think we have a new peer for them.

  2. Both are beautifully done. The black-and-gray color scheme on the stock version reflects what I've been considering for my 1/16 Mercedes SS, based on a surviving car, and confirms to me that's the way to go. What gray paint did you use? It's just what I need.

And NATO black for the convertible top is a real discovery for me, since it looks like a more realistic, less intense black than typical model paints. Could be a good choice for vinyl tops, too. My Mercedes top might require a slight mist with dullcote, though. And I love the attention to detail with your use of the wood on the convertible frame. As for attention to detail, the period license plate shows how much care you put into this very sophisticated build. Do you have other pictures of this car?

    Nice work.

    EDITED ADDITION:

Okay, so I went to your website. I am officially blown away. You should have more detailed photos for each build. Unbelievable.

  3. Superb. And that red trim line/pinstripe on the side of the body is incredibly precise. Is that molded into the kit or did you use something like Evergreen styrene rod? If so, what type and size?

  4. I don't know about everyone else here but while I am typing this it tells me what is spelled wrong. So sometimes I might actually type something different on purpose like George does  I thought this was a Model site not Grammar 101. I can't build models in school classes  Lets try ickty acity ook ..... Yes all those lit up red under them to say it's spelled wrong. :lol:B)

Harrumphf. It's not about Grammar 101, it's about posting a reasonably understandable message. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out other posts on this site or (especially) the "other" site.

  5. if we are willing to download Ispell then we can type in this very window where we normally write our posts and at the very end, before hitting the post button hit the spell sheck button (top right) and have it check right in this window

    it saves a step :)

also, keep in mind that this forum is in english and we often asume all our members are from the US and that thier first language is english

That's an excellent point, and I think many of us understand it. And I must say, if you use an online translator, there's no telling what gibberish you'll end up with.

There is, however, no online translator for speaking in tongues.

  6. I understand that a large amount of posting replies here are run-and-gun, knee-jerk responses. That's part of the fun of it all. However, there are just a ton of impossible-to-decipher posts that totally ignore grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation and the basics of communication. Here, we're not limited by the demands of texting or Twitter with their shortcuts, and those posts are extremely hard to read. May I make a suggestion?

Almost all of us have Microsoft Word. Why not compose your post in Word, then run their grammar and spellcheck to correct hasty typos? All you have to do then is copy and paste your message into your post on this site. We Boomers would appreciate it.

  7. Actually, thats all I eat on Sunday! I eat one meal a day starting about 2 years ago and today I weight 190. Two years ago, I weighted 260!

In my family, a Sunday breakfast was always big even if we ate it in the late evening!

Nothing beats a good ol' Southern breakfast and the more people eating it with you, the more fun we all had. Sadly, in todays fast pace world, its a dying tradition but I still keep it alive. Thanks to both of my wonderful Grandmothers! B)

    ~ Jeff

So, has your cholesterol level gone down with your weight change? (I love a place where you can talk about model cars, breakfast, beer and cholesterol in the same thread.)
