  1. That is a really cool diorama and definitely a great way to display that kit. There are great Ferrari 250 kits available now so that AMT kit can be retired (or put out to pasture).

  2. The TS and AS paints are perfectly compatible; however, be aware that some flat paints are very flat and may take vast quantities of clear to try to make a glossy finish. I experienced this with a Tamiya AS gray (can't remember which one) and TS-13. By the time I realized it just wasn't going to work I'd wasted a lot of paint and nearly a whole can of clear.

  3. I recommend that you order from Hobby Link Japan (http://www.hlj.com/) rather than go through Amazon. They usually have the best price and are so reliable and responsive that you can rest assured that yours will be a hassle-free transaction. I received a package from them yesterday, less than two weeks from order and payment!

There aren't any sorts of import duties or other customs fees for shipments to the USA.

  4. I just bought a used Fender Tele Deluxe that is Fiesta red. This is supposed to be a 1950's car color. Is this a FoMoCo color or what?

As a guitarist, I'm appalled that you post not even a single photograph of this Tele. You should be ashamed of yourself. How are we supposed to get a vicarious thrill from your purchase without a picture?

  5. You DO NOT have a problem. This is what Tamiya acrylics do and it is why we modelers love them: they dry quickly. Don't try to paint straight from the jar. Put a little dab of the paint on a palette and add a little of their thinner.

I use Tamiya acrylics almost exclusively for everything I'm brushing. I also use them through my airbrush, but that's a whole different thing.

The only time I try to use this paint straight out of the jar is if I'm absolutely confident that I can finish the job in one stroke of the brush. If you are going to be painting for more than about thirty seconds, then you really need to use the process I mentioned above. It is possible to keep dipping your brush in thinner and going back to the jar but that also raises other concerns.

  6. This comparison is proof positive. They are both round, flat, IT: Recently, an Oreo was discovered that contained a remarkable likeness of the face seen on Mars. More PROOF.

Don't ask me why, but I kinda see the Mona Lisa in that frosting

MONA LISA FROSTING!   I know the answer's there, man!  If we try this... an anagram for "AFAR MOON'S LISTING."
