  1. I don't have one handy...I just foiled the headlights.....just OK. The grille I foiled and then washed with black. thx
  2. I think 'the 70's is key......we\ll see!
  3. Stopped at my store today and they were just unboxing some kits. Not a lot yet....but they said they may have more. Mine had Revell Mack 1/32 fire engine snap $10, Revell F102 Delta Dart $10, Lindberg Civil War cannon, Tuna boat and 'The 5 senses'. I\ll check back Monday to se if anything else. thx
  4. In the 8/15 email newsletter........ We also will be releasing another Press Release later in the week related to some classic Monogram Snap Kits originally released in the 1970's!
  5. First off I removed all the Aero skirts. I then used plastic stock to fill these voids and reshaped to a stock look. The mirrors are from a Lindberg Caravan van kit. The wheels came from some die cast but can't recall. I made the emblems on my ALPS in chrome foil. Thanks
  6. Cool idea......I had a resin LS nose from years ago....always thought it would make a neat stock conversion!!
  7. I have a photo etch brass stencil for NASCAR tires.....I forgot the company that made it....but they are gone now....maybe someone knows of one now.
  8. Nice work!!!! I like that kit. Built a blue and yellow so far...want to build all factory colors!
  9. I have no issue with it........When I lived in Charlotte and knew many NASCAR shop guys (I had a NASCAR license company) used parts were often free or really cheap......BUT it was a risk.....they had often been used by a top level team....then a entry level team....then were free. Many parts were still good....but carried a risk. This guy being a engine builder could sort the good from bad easier than most of us.....and could rebuild if a issue came up. When NASCAR goes to the next Gen car I am going to try and pick up a few FORD 9" rear axle assemblies as they will not be in the next Gen car.....and there are HUNDREDS in use today!
  10. Agree....but like he said the vast majority was DONATED.......I need his friends!!! (rich ones)
  11. That T body looks stretched.......which is what I'd do if I ever built one.
  12. They could not give the Civil War cannon away........kept waiting for them to mark them down......never did.
  13. When Dad passed and I cleaned out his workshop I found a Opti-visor. I didn't realize how much I needed one until I started using his. Dad built models as a kid (balsa) and helped me in the hobby.....and still did after he was gone!!!
  14. Went Monday and no clearance.......but lots of empty shelves from the big restock last week.....so no need to clearance things yet at mine. This HL is the only store selling model kits for about 75 miles in any direction.....so I see why they sell.
  15. I remember when the 48 Chevy was announced it was the 'first of a long line of kits' I had hoped it was more than 3....but they are nice..I have all of them and a few trailers.
  16. Tichy and Grandt Line both make MANY sizes. If you look under 'O' scale, which is 1/48 scale, then you can get an idea what size you need in 1/24-1/25. A 2" bolt in O scale is a 1" bolt in 1/24. I have a box full of these things
  17. The Revell Midget kit was a project wanted by a person in Revell that had the power to OK the project and how well it did didn't come into play.
  18. I like T's.........One recent build and one real cars from a show I went to 8/9/20. The model is kinda based of a Disney cartoon hot rod
  19. I returned the 'Heat' to a stock Concorde....a model of my car at the time!
  20. Duplicolor #1699 sealer for 30 years now. Maybe it was the scratch filler......never even seen that can before. Sorry you had issues.....I used off brand paint on a truck trailer once.....$50 down the drain!
  21. Something I sent to Revell Monogram years ago as an 'IDEA'.......nothing happened...but...
  22. Looks good!!!!! Big Bud Moore fan. Bud Moore was a tough guy.......saw him eat 3 Martinsville hot dogs during the 1996 race while it was 100 degrees on pit road......I was whipped....not Bud!!
  23. FYI TRUTH is NOT equal to unwarranted criticizing. We need a paper/print magazine. I will support what comes from this venture and if it looks like it gets back up on it's feet....subscribe.
