  1. The 2.4 engine is fine, it's the transmissions that are a problem.
  2. A warning about the 2.4/4speed auto drive train. Almost all of these transmissions BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out between 80 and 100K miles. I have a 2013 Avenger which I love and it happened to me and everyone else I have talked to who own one. Same thing with the minivans equipped with this trans. I work for a national auto parts chain so I get to question a lot of people about the vehicles that they drive. Not able to say which chain I work for as they are very sensitive about being mentioned by employees on the internet.
  3. Beautiful!
  4. Very nice. I have always liked this car and you did it proud. Wise choice leaving the bumpers off.
  5. I like this alot! Nice work all around.
  6. Nice work!
  7. Me too and what is amazing is that the artist managed to make the white paint look pearlescent.
  8. This is so wonderful that I am at a loss for words to describe it.
  9. That is just beautiful and great engine choice.
  10. Thanks for the heads up Robert.
  11. Ha, if I could be there I would still be square.
  12. After living in eastern Ky for 14 yrs I got a transfer and made it back to my hometown. Now live in Jacksonville again and loving every minute of it. I feel as if my life has been in limbo for 14yrs. As soon as I get my own place I'll be back at the bench again.
  13. Well, it won't be much of a thrill as this is a recent reissue and not a very good pic but I will take better pics later. Thanks for the color info Allen.
  14. Thanks for the replies. I knew Fender used car colors but was just curious as to what car mfg used this color. I believe the Shoreline Gold is a Cadillac color.
  15. I just bought a used Fender Tele Deluxe that is Fiesta red. This is supposed to be a 1950's car color. Is this a FoMoCo color or what?
  16. There is a decent Hilborn injection setup in the Double Dragster kit as well.
  17. Don't know if this is causing it but I have noticed that the laquer clear coat that they use under the chrome plating is on many of the unplated parts as well.
  18. So far, I have bought one coupe and one roadster kit. Revell IMO did hit a home run with this one but it just barely cleared the fence. The lip on the edge of the body and the hump in the headers and not giving us whitewall inserts for the tires are minor gripes for me. The blower looks too square shaped to me also, but I think a lot of scale blowers look this way .
  19. Forgot that I had also built the 65 Mustang kit in the late 80's. The big problem with this one is that the windshield is sloped too steeply and it can clearly be noticed on the box art.
  20. I had the 57 Coupe when I was a teenager and thought it was a good kit. It came with some nice Cragar S/S wheels. Did it in black with a red interior and only remember having one issue with fit - I had to shave a lot of plastic off the bottom rear of the body to get the bumper to fit properly. I also had built the MPC 63 vette and used the spare dual quad intake setup that came with it on the 57. These were the only two models that I kept after moving out on my own.
  21. I love it! Revell should use this one for the box art build. Is that some of the Testors one coat laquer red?
  22. I don't know who she is but that is one of the most beautiful faces I have ever laid eyes on!
  23. Would that be Samantha Fox? It would be easier to recognize her if i could see her boobs.
  24. Here's the only finished one I have there are more in the stash.
