I find it funny that about 50% of us look forward to whats getting reissued by Round 2, and the other 50% complain that all we get from Round 2 is reissues. I think there's some good stuff yet to be found.
I started building one a while back, I'll start a build thread after Christmas. AMT 55 sedan, Revell 56 chassis, Revell big block and 4 speed from the 68 'Vette street machine kit, and I'll scratch build the axle.
The dang things should just be outlawed as far as I'm concerned. http://www.wdrb.com/story/29650818/hillview-man-arrested-for-shooting-down-drone-cites-right-to-privacy
The same thing happens in the 1:1 car world too. Good solid restorable cars are worth more as parts. And thats how they are sold, whats left gets crushed.
Yes, I was assuming, because they seem to be setting on the hobby shop shelves and aren't plentiful on the contest tables. I haven't heard any numbers from Revell.
Anyone can ask whatever they want, and anyone can bid or pass, pay only what you're willing to spend and don't cry if someone else bids more. You can always make an offer if something isn't getting any bids.
I personally thought that the 70 Hemi Cuda was the number 1 overlooked best seller kit that could be tooled, but I don't think sells were anywhere near expected levels. Maybe that's why we haven't seen a modified reissue.
As a side note on AMT / MPC kits, I was at my LHS a few days ago and the owner told me that if I wanted a Dukes Charger I should get one now as the flag was soon to be deleted. Just a heads up.
The new tool 57 is a good kit, but pie shaped. I've figured out how to narrow the back half of the body and section the rear bumper so all is good. The opening trunk really helps on this. Compare it to a new Revell 57 and you'll see what I'm talking about. Great donor kit for other mid 50's GM builds too.
