  1. Very nice. Are the auto touch up paints generally a lacquer or?
  2. Yeah building more than one is fine. The more the merrier. I want this to be a successful community build, so bring it on!
  3. It's a newer fashion trend with the negative camber
  4. I used to live in aztec. Spent a lot of time in Durango and Silverton as well.
  5. small update myself while messing with alclad.
  6. To me it depends on the subject. If its a normal car I will get as realistic as I can and make sure things "make sense" If its a sci-fi type of thing then it doesn't have to make sense
  7. One of the kits I started a while back. The following link is a review somebody else wrote on the kit. http://www.vodnik.evbox.pl/pages/F-16CJ/f-16cj.htm I have purchased just about every resin and photo etch upgrade for the kit and look forward to making some progress.
  8. Great work so far guys! I want to start over on my hinges. The wobble of the doors is a bit much because the tubes are too big for the wire. Small hiccup but fixable.
  9. Even though online shopping is cheaper I still prefer to support local business, and if nothing there grabs my attention I will go online.
  10. Did I ever say I believed anything that the OP had stated? No. So quit making assumptions. It's obvious that you, the interwebz police, are out for e-justice, and for what? To prove that you're right? What did you even accomplish by confronting him? Then when you jumped down his throat, others followed suit, so yes. Birds of a feather flock together. And yes, the net is a wonderful place. Especially when it comes to anonymity.
  11. Hey it could have come from somebody's mothers attic. Who cares? It's not like it matters.
  12. You would think! Or at least move them to their corresponding category. I did have one model (the monster truck) in a contest. The judges were friends/same club with the only other person in my category and that guy's build wasn't all that great (glue bomb, terrible paint, terrible fit). So instead of judging fairly, they moved my model to the diorama category so the guy could win. I dunno if their intent was to give the guy false praise or whatnot, but the category i was told to put it in was "competition/other" and both of our builds were the only post apocalypse based builds in the contest. This was also the category that the model was placed in BY THEM at the time of registration. So why they would put it somewhere else at the time of judging appears to be "brother-in-lawing" or just plain cheating. It's ok though, they know who's was really better, and seeing people looking at my work and taking pictures and showing genuine interest in the model compared to the other one was enough to put a smile on my face. This brings me to my favorite part of contests. Sitting off in the distance watching my models like a mother bear to her cubs, and seeing people taking pictures of my work. The scariest part about contests are the kids running around all these "toys". Always makes me nervous lol
  13. My biggest issue is build direction. I look at a kit and don't know where I want to go with it. For a while. I guess planning is my biggest thing that bothers me. Or the ejector pin markings in awkward spaces that make themselves impossible to remove.
  14. I used to be an online gamer with first person shooters (for those who played unreal tournament 99, you know what I'm talking about) I was really good at it, and was a "killer" and if a person dies they flatline. If I'm doing the "killing" that makes me a flatliner. The wg is for "wild geese" which was the name of the group I played with. My avatar? Well.. I am a banana! (my spoon is too big). It's a comedy thing. Confused? Look it up on YouTube.
  15. I don't really care if people bring the same stuff. It's when that particular model wins every time in the same contests. The rules I know are: if said model wins at this contest it is not eligible to be entered at the same contest next year or whatever. The other thing is people "category shopping" for their model and putting their build into a category with barely any entries, just so they can get an award knowing their model has nothing to do with said category. That irks me.
  16. Here is a minor update. Got the frame done and touched up, and I finished up some basic engine work. I managed to find the water pump. The tacky paint was tacky enough to stick to the wall. So while I was sifting through the shag carpet, I briefly gave up and gazed at nothing. Then a little shiny thing on the wall got my attention. 12 hours later. So anyways the part was cleaned up and done in gold via the alclad path, and radiator done in chrome, and all installed and detail painted. Will get better pics uploaded when I get home.
  17. I'll just buy another one and turn it into a custom but use those engine parts for this one. So maybe my other 63 will be a pro touring car
