  3. Scratchbuilt a working wheel lift, still need to build the mount and the hydraulics, but when done it'll raise and lower, it'll pivot, and it'll extend and retract.

Of course there not finished products, they still need cleaned up and smoothed.

THIS LOOKS REAL GOOD I WORK IN A REPO COMPANY AND I LOOK AT THIS ALL DAY LOOKS GOOD ..IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A KIT LIKE THIS BUT I GUESS BUILDING FROM STARCH IS THE WAY TO GO MAYBE I'LL BUILD A DYNAMIC SYSTEM ON A TRUCK NOT SURE ..LOOKS GOOD KEEP IT UP

  4. Wow, I thought I was the only one who went eons between updates! Did you already paint this kit? If not, it lends itself well to Dark Reds or Blues.

LOL MAN I KNOW I HAVE ALSO BEEN WORKING ON ANOTHER KIT THAT I WANT TO POST UP SOON ....I HAD PICS AND READY TO GO BUT IT WAS THOSE DAYS WHERE THE FORUMS WHERE HACKED

  5. A little more progress for today. I got the motor installed into the chassis.

    65Mustang30.jpg

I got the tires mounted and the wheels detailed.

    65Mustang31.jpg

I'm undecided about these. These are the knockoffs for the kit wheelscovers and maybe I'll mockup one to see if I like it.

    65Mustang32.jpg

    More to come.....

MAN YOUR DOING A GREAT JOB ILL BE WATCHING ..HOPEFULLY I CAN GET MY MODEL BUILDING SKILLS TO THIS LEVEL THANKS FOR THE PICS

  6. I LIKE THE TRUENO I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING THIS KIT ILL WAIT TO SEE HOW YOUR COMES OUT AND WELCOME TO THE FORUMS IM MAKING A COMEBACK SINCE I HAVENT BEEN HERE IN SUCH A LONG TIME AND NEVER FINISHED THE BUILD I STARTED ..ILL BE POSITING UP NEW PICS OF MY PROGRESS AS WELL ..IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK PPL HERE ARE REAL COOL

  7. The decals will be very fragile and will more than likely already be hairline cracked (mine were....fresh from the box). As for coloration, paint it anything but Fords Hokey 'Enviorn-car green Scheme' (the stock paint job on this car).

THANKS FOR HEADS UP I THINK I WOULD WANT IT TO LOOK MORE LIKE A SLEPPER CAR . I THINK THE STOCK PAINT JOB IS TO FLASHY IT REMINDS ME OF LIKE A 80'S TRUCK PAINT SCHEME. I'LL KEEP UPDATING YOU HAVE PICS OF YOURS? I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT

  8. This is going to be the first car i build and document should be fun still an armature builder be gentle lol but i love criticism if it teaches me new ways . i'm going to do pretty stock to the box except for the color not sure if im going to do the decals . post-5621-12647410014586_thumb.jpg post-5621-1264741254047_thumb.jpgi cant decide on the rims not sure on the brand i'll call it rear and front i'm kind of leaning towards the rears what you think ? i'll keep updating

  9. not a problem :D

just take it one kit at a time and you'll get there

also keep in mind that we're all a good buncha guys here

so if your kit comes with wheels you dont like trade em of

if it has the wrong engine....trade it

or maybe it came with some slicks someone needs and you can trade em for a blower

and so on and so forth

    Hey diymirage

Yeah man no problem i'll will enjoy and provided thanks i have some kits wating but this rain is killing me

i still havent steped it into the mods im still in the stock out the box level but i want to get into the mods alot more

thanks for the tips and the help

  10. hey walther

    welcome aboard

some of what you have asked for (turbos/intercoolers) are scratchbuild

however, there is an australian company (i think it is called the partsbox) that does sell resin cast turbo kits

as for most of the the other stuff (engines and go fast goodies) even thought they are sold seperatly most of those can be obtained by buying and building kits that can be build in several ways and saving the extra parts

for instance, revell has a 1969 dodge charger that comes with both the stock 440 magnum and a race 426 hemi in it

there is also a modified stocker 1953 ford F100 truck that has the stock flathead engine and a desoto firedome hemi

the desoto has 2 different intake setups so when i build that kit i slapped the flathead in the truck

    IMG00039-20090620-2120.jpg

(the velocity stacks were optional parts from a mustang kit)

then i build the desoto with the fuel injection as a display engine

    IMG00029-20091129-1943.jpg

and finally i used the log manifold from the desoto on the 426 hemi cuda

    IMG00102-20100105-1616.jpg

    so in short

keep building those models and the parts will show up eventually

if your in more of a hurry do "junkyard" searches on ebay

that should be your cheapest bet

also, there is the wanted area here on the forum where you can trade of those parts for parts you like better

    one final suggestion

look for a 1970 dodge coronet superbee prostreet kit

(the green or yellow car on the box)

youll find some awesome goodies in there

THANKS FOR THE TIPS I GUESS I JUST HAVE TO BUILD UP MY COLLECTION A BIT . FUNNY I NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD BE LEARNING ABOUT ENGINES BUILDING MODELS . THANKS ALOT I THINK I SAW THE SUPER FOR LAST TIME I WAS AT THE HOBBY SHOP I'LL LOOK INTO GETTING MY HANDS ON IT

  11. That's a sweet paint job!

RacinRay88, an airbrush isn't really as hard to use as one might think. Sure, it takes a little practice to get the best results, but if you can rattle can, you can use an airbrush. I remember the first time i used one. It was on a Palmer (?) 1:32 scale '32 Ford. Painted Testors sapphire blue. Yeah, it had runs and mottling, but it turned out well enough that I never turned back. In fact, the next one I did (an AMT '32 Ford) was not only airbrushed, but was painted a custom mixed color, something you can't do with rattlecans. get yourself a basic inexpensive airbrush to start with, trust me, you'll like it.

THANKS FOR THE TIPS MAN I TO HAVE NOT DONE ANY AIR BRUSH KIND OF INTIMIDATED. DO YOU HAVE A DUAL ACTION ? WELL I RE EDITED SINCE I SAW YOU DID . WELL WHEN PAINTING WITH AIRBRUSH IS INDOORS POSSIBLE OR IS IT STILL A HAZARD LIKE SPRAY BOTTLES

  12. Good job man , I'm also new to the forums i like this kit its a nice to began with i bit more then i could chew on my 1st build . I'm still learning tons of stuff if you have any ?'s feel free to ask what model kit is this ?

Thanks for switching out the Falcon for the Olds for me, this is what I will be building. One of my resin kits. The pics are of a mock up, its not started yet. I am a pro street junkie so that might be the direction it goes in, not sure yet. Nor on the engine choice, I did not cast the orig. kit engine but could use the engine out of the 66' 442 donor kit. The engine I sat down in the mock up with the 4 side draft webers is a DOHC Hemi,,,I guess that would be a crime against nature. Will post more pics when I figure out which way its going. <img src="http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

    that is a nice car

cant go wrong with those wheels either

but you are right about that engine

it is way to sick to stick in there (i mean, how are you gonna pop the hood? )

so ill send you a PM with my adres and you can ship it to me, then ill slap her in a 71 charger <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

so, you cast that kit yourself ?

id love to get started on that one of these days myself but im not sure if im ready yet <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

I need to start repainting it anyways <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />

Here it is in a very old build i built as a kid.

    <img src="http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq254/The_Emo_Gearhead/theotheralbum/023-1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    <img src="http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/qq254/The_Emo_Gearhead/theotheralbum/024-1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

    I built that when i was about 10 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

    Since then iv'e added a blower to it though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

    wasnt your definition of a muscle car an overpowered car? i think mines gonna fit in just perfect <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> (insert evil laugh icon here <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

i think i have seen that kit before, did you post pics of it onces ?

either way, i like having old kits around i am not proud of, they make great scavenger cars <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
