Niko - What an Impressive model, Ive really enjoyed following along on this project. I doubted your sanity a few times especially when you did the clutch linkage, and for such a detail you made it look not intimidating. Top Notch work all the way !!

What non-auto model did you get today?

Bill - I'm really happy you like the book and a really impressive review you left for it. That Colorado Midland RR plan is dangerous to me every time I look at it. -
Shipping containers - the reason most towns/ burgs/ wide spots on the map don't allow them as they are not a taxable structure. If you buy or build a storage shed that is "stick built" the county or town can tax it. Shipping containers they haven't figured out a tax for them.

What is your NUMBER 1 favorite movie car
Old Buckaroo replied to Thedragsterdude's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
My son and I always watch the 1980 movie "Used Cars" when he comes home, we pretty much love every car / truck driven in the high school driving class convoy.- 174 replies

We have some moron that does that in our town also in the middle of the night. My wife thinks they are trying to hide the smell of them cooking meth.

Just an old Monogram kit 'Firebolt'
Old Buckaroo replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Now that is cool and you did a great job with it. I need one of those relics on my shelf. 😎 We had CO2 cars when I was in cub scouts. After I got older I found out that model rocket (Estes) engines were way funner ! -

Bill this book has a chapter on hand laying rail which I think is the best Ive seen in 50 years of Model RR magazines and books. If you don't have one - get one, or if you cant find a bargain let me know as I'm sure i have a duplicate or two. -

Nice grab on the HOn3 , that is actually the scale I model and the standard gauge is the odd ball line for my stuff. I mixed in the dual gauge track for a certain mining town I modeled. -
Atlantis rolls out ex Revell 57 Chevy Nomad.

Yes Sir it does. -
Bill, Ive had really good luck removing those pesky labels when they are cold. When UPS leaves a box on the porch in February with negative 30 temps they almost fall off themselves. If you have opened the kit ,Id put the top in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for a few hours.

Old Buckaroo replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That would be a perfect candidate for a Nascar convertible ! -

Ive already been removing parts off the trees, the parts I thought was cool was the 6 carb intake, gasser front axle setup. The window glass is poor fitting but I can make my own Ive built worse kits, and there are a lot of little ejector pin marks to file away - but I'll take them any day over the divots that need to be filled. This is my version with some wheels from the parts box for a quick mock up. -
Almost everybody had nice calendars back then !

Don't do it - send it off and have it fixed, this was your grandfathers watch he most likely got a lot of use out of it. The cost outlay may have a bit of a sting to it, but having it fixed , cleaned correctly will provide you with a lifetime of service - instead of it ending up in a box of parts hidden away. You really cant put a dollar worth on something like this that will last if properly taken care of.

I liked Salvage 1 , that was a cool show. I almost grew up to be a space nerd till my exposure to a big block Chevy with open headers ! 😎

Such a Super build and I like your style of "no rules to follow" that means just plain old fun!

Bought this old unwanted jewel off ebay for $11.00, The car is built and painted "pepto bismal pink". After stripping it will meet Mr Razor Saw to become to be rebuilt into Nascar convertible. The box was in really good condition also. The above pic was reduced to 1024 x 768 for the new upload limit guidelines.
