  1. Guaranteed income? You just said no show, no dough? How does that work?
  2. They're all good, it's just that some are better than others. That AMT Deuce Roadster is a longtime favorite of many builders. While not a great kit, a good one and many have been sold. I remember when the very first edition of that kit came out. I was like Christmas!
  3. What happened to the hobby shop you were goin' to open up Tom?
  4. That's sad news, and may Pat R.I.P.
  5. That looks great Kenny, will we be seein' a new mold for the '60 El Camino soon, I hope???
  6. POOOOR Dick Portillo, you'd think that he'd be drivin' a Maserati, or some other expensive exotic car, but no his daily driver is a Brinks truck as all his locations are "gold mines." I've seen the drive-thru lanes filled with so many vehicles that they wrapped around the building. Sometimes if you don't have reservations at "prime time" you'll end up eating in your car at lunch time. And I've seen people with "carry outs" carrying boxes and large (shopping) bags, filled with that "heart attack" food. I give that man (Dick Portillo) a LOT of credit as he sure knows what he's doin', and it all started with a hot dog wagon. There was a time in '09 where I went to Portillo's everyday, five days a week for a month straight.
  7. I thoroughly enjoyed the "blowout" as the game went just the way I wanted it to. A couple of close buddies were hopin' the donkeys would win, but I wasn't.
  8. Wayne, I know a few people from the Chicagoland area that have moved out to Vegas. I guess none of them want to be in the restaurant business. Of course if the rent isn't a "killer" in one of the casinos, a dog/beef stand might make a good go at it?
  9. Call or e-mail the resin caster and ask what you can use.
  10. What's wrong with Portillo's Jim, as my wife and I were just there last week for lunch and goin' again next week? It's a good thing that there's not one closer to where we live. Even though their food is great, it is "heart attack" food. LOL!
  11. Model kit prices are on the rise as well as paint prices, so what else is new? It the same old, same old. Money trickles in, and FLOWS out.
  12. In three weeks from tomorrow on Sunday Feb. 23rd is the swap meet at the Du Page Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois. Weather permitting, I hope to be there buyin' kits and stuff I don't need, but it's always a good time seein' the guys I've known from over the years.
  13. Wayne, I was in Vegas a few months later in '09 and it was still cold. Haven't been to Vegas since then. My cousin who lived there passed on, and I do some gaming from time to time at other places.
  14. "Plow-ready" Harry, plow-ready.
  15. Yep, we've had another snowfall last night and no newspaper in the driveway again this morning. Soon I'm gonna do a "Trump" (Donald) and fire them! Guess I'll "suit up" soon and go play with the shovel and snow-blower. At least it's another day closer to spring. More snow comin' too, oh boy, oh joy!
  16. That creek bed may not have been there when the Indians roamed the area Kerry, as nature has a way of changing the course of creeks, rivers, etc. over time.
  17. They just gotta have their "cat naps" Carl.
  18. Bring it (snow) on as we're gettin' closer to spring everyday now. As far as months go, I like April thru October myself.
  19. I recently got some slicks from Speed City Resin, 7" & 9" Cheaters as well as Goodyear Blue Streaks. Nice stuff.
  20. I've used Dupli-Color paints successfully over Dupli-Color, Tamiya, and Testors primers. I usually use a white primer as they grey primers seem to change the colors I'm spraying making them darker. I only use the grey primer if my color coats are to be silver or black. I do all my painting out of "rattle cans."
  21. The newer issues of car mags often throw in articles of "new muscle" and if you look up the price of these "new muscle" cars, they are $40,000 before making any mods to them. That's a lot of molaah for the average Joe.
  22. Today (Friday) is the last day of the month of January, and we are making forward progress towards spring, so cheer up!
  23. Competition Resins also has a Dana rear end available.
  24. Just give the plated Moon disc a couple light coats of Testors Dull-Cote and they'll look fine.
  25. I just finished clearing the driveway of snow again, and there's more comin' this weekend. I can hardly wait, oh boy, oh joy!!!
