High octane replied to Tom Kren's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I believe it will. -
On the downside, my wife and I don't have any winter/spring vacation planned for this year. Summer vacation this time. Oh well, life IS good!

Why do you build models?
High octane replied to clovis's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It was something to do when I was a kid and I started building model kits awhile before the model car explosion arrived. I then started likin' model car kits and eventually 1 : 1 cars as well. I like being able to build cars that I can't afford to have in 1 : 1 scale due to lack of money and or room as well. I enjoy displaying my built model cars and also my die-cast collection in Curio cabinets that are in my living and family rooms. -
Good source for Candy paints
High octane replied to customsrus's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yes, try Bob's Paints at gdahl1@wi.rr.com. He has a great selection of candy paints and they look fantastic, as I know several builders who use his products on a regular basis. -
I was out plowing the driveway again this morning and I'm getting good at it. I guess that I have had plenty of experience after living here almost 20 years. LOL!

High octane replied to Randytheroadrunner's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That is a really nice resin kit Randy and I might have one stashed somewhere, unless it's the '65 Sedan? -
Nice build on that "bowtie" Bruce.

Is our hobby, growing or skrinking?
High octane replied to Chris White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd say that in about 10 years from now, the model car hobby will see a dramatic downturn and continue to spiral as many of the baby boomers will either lose interest, or for health reasons such as arthritis which can and will hamper their building skills. -
No overdose on music, but I used to listen to music that was loud enough to "feel" it. Also hammering on sheet metal duct work for 30+ years and listening to nitro engines both at the strip and drag boat races, I believe are the cause of my tinnitus. So keep that in mind.

Really like your cats Tulio, as I've had three cats in the last 20-21 years. They're all in the cat cemetery in the back now and since some of the relatives are allergic to cats, no more for awhile. I REALLY did enjoy them, as my daughter left me two when she moved out on her own. I like dogs too, but other people's dogs.

It is very sad to lose a family member of close friend, however it is something we have to deal with during our lives. I know that at times it's something that is hard to accept, and getting over or more comfortable with the idea takes time. Sometimes more time than others. My dear mom has passed over five years ago and I still miss her. People don't realize that we have "expiration dates" too just like a carton of eggs or a bottle of milk, except that we don't know what our dates are. That's why we should try to live our lives to the fullest. In the last month three of my friends from model car clubs have lost their wives and I feel bad for them. Sometimes it can be a blessing as well, if a person is really sick and will never get better.

Not pretty, but just another winter week. I'm gonna just deal with it as I have plenty to do inside the house, so other than plowing the drive, it's no sweat.

I'm really not a "Vette" guy, but the '60 & '68 are my fave bodied 'Vettes and I'm really likin' your build. Love the color choice and wheels & tires as well.

It's gonna be 80 degrees and sunny tomorrow (Sat.) in Honolulu. I can picture myself there on the North Shore, Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor. I better "wake" up soon so that I can chase the snow blower down the driveway. LOL!

Congrats Bill as you made a great accomplishment. And yes you are a nice guy as I've talked to you a couple of times at the Toledo shows when they were held in Maumee. I really liked it when you showed me your roll up windows, just awesome! I almost missed the Milwaukee NNL last year as I was so sick, I thought that I'd have to have my wife take me to the ER and surgery would be in order. I did have it checked out the next day and was told to go on a "bland" diet. Whew, had me scared. I did change my ways as far as eating habits and cut back on a lot of junk food and fried foods as well. I still cheat occasionally, but I really feel better and no more pains.

Only 10 weeks or so of winter huh? Well's there's no turnin' back now. I'm already thinkin' car shows, cruise nights, and drag strips, yeah! Hopefully some model building too.

I like '57 Fords, but I have yet to build one straight from the box
High octane replied to Ron Hamilton's topic in Model Cars
You do have a way with '57 Fords Ron, as they look great.
