  1. I have finished a couple builds in the past on New Year's Eve, but not this year as I have zero motivation right now.
  2. Since I'm doin' just fine without a GPS, iphone, ipad, backpack, etc., I guess I can live without a 3-D printer as well.
  3. Welcome tot he forum Matthew as it is a good place to be. BTW, I was lucky enough to visit Boston last October and it was great. You WILL need an Xacto knife with a # 11 blade, toothpicks for applying the glue, 6" long tweezers with hook nose, sanding sticks, if you want to wire engines, you will need a pin-vise and a set of drill bits. You may want to buy some better paint brushes, but they are expensive $5-7 each and they'll last you a long time and won't shed on you model/parts when you're painting. Also a pair of sprue-cutters is good to have as you will use them often as well. I hope this helps.
  4. I'm at home right now nursing a cold and we're supposed to get more snow into the new year. Oh boy, oh joy! Yeah right.
  5. That logo is lookin' good Greg.
  6. That looks great as I remember that car well. It used to play at Great Lakes Dragaway and also Rockford Dragway back in the mid-60's.
  7. Back in the 60's I had to fix the heater in my first car outside because I couldn't afford the $25 or maybe it was $45 for a shop to take it out and fix it. I got lucky as one of the vacuum hoses came loose that controlled the damper. Yay!
  8. Your project is lookin' really good Ryan. Sorry the decals didn't work out for you. Did you have them custom made, or are they available on the fireball website? Thanks.
  9. AMT doesn't release or re-issue anything as the company is looooooooong gone. Round 2 purchased the tooling and all rights to the AMT Corp. and is working on recouping their investment as well as make a profit. As long as they don't have to spend a small fortune in new tooling, they're happy campers.
  10. I'll never forget the Blizzard of '67, as I too worked for Jewel Foods and had to walk or hitch-hike to work. I was lucky enough to get my car home and let it sit there. We were selling bread and milk out the front doors as the merchandise never got into the store.
  11. ZERO is not that exciting Joe.
  12. It was about May of '80, and I swear that I saw all four seasons in one day when working in downtown Chicago.
  13. Nice build, and I used to be a young American at one time myself.
  14. The dual hood scoops I believe were body color along with the hood, and the six-pak scoop was matte black along with the hood. I wouldn't bet the house on that though.
  15. I'll checkout the new issue at the newsstand next week. That way I know they won't be damaged.
  16. That Willys project has "KILLER" written all over it.
  17. Yes by all means, be patient and don't just buy a car because you "might" like it. You've got to really like it before you pull out the ca$h. It took me close to a year to find my ride. And many people don't realize that after they purchase a car, that there's storage, insurance, and maintenance of the vehicle as well. I met a condo owner this summer that bought a beautiful Grand National and was paying $175 per month for a garage to store it in. That's a lotta bucks.
  18. Whatever it is, I can wait as it's not like I'm down to my last 100 kits to be built.
  19. I found my car online, although I forgot exactly how I came across the website that I bought it from. 4 1/2 years later and I'm still glad that I bought it. I do check with www.carsonline.com often, even though I have no more room or ca$h for another car, just to see what's out there.
  20. I got a new snow shovel and a snow brush also, as winter is far from over.
  21. Have you checked: www.carsonline.com???
  22. Lack of motivation? Do I know what that is and right now I'm at ZERO motivation. I'm sure it'll pass as I still visit the model cars websites daily, go to model car club meetings, and such. And I also look forward to the upcoming Milwaukee NNL on April 12th, 2014 whether I have anything new to bring or not. I'll soon be repainting my build room/den also.
  23. No model kits for Christmas which is okay, but I did get a great muscle car reference book. On the way to the AMG meeting next week I may have to stop at Greenfield News & Hobby and pick up a couple of the newer released kits.
  24. A VERY Merry Christmas to all of you and your families.
