  1. Ouch!!! I don't think that you'll be doin' that again.
  2. Lookin' good Joe, do you have a website?
  3. Awesome job on that altered roadster.
  4. I think that you were at the "other meeting" down the street called the Butchers club. I had my name tag on so you should of seem me and said Hi. The SLAM club meets right by the railroad tracks.
  5. Your dad is a lucky guy as he's gonna love that sweet build. Nice job!
  6. The S.L.A.M. club meeting held today at Rickie's Rods in Lake Delavan, Wisconsin was great! We had reps from IWATA demonstrating their products as well as letting us try them out. There was great food, a free raffle, and lots of great camaraderie. It was also a "build 'n bull" session with a lot of bull today and very little building. LOL!
  7. I find that many people who have 4X4 or so called "off road" vehicles are only "off road" when they're in their driveway. And the places they show a vehicle can go in the vehicle they're advertising are probably only frequented by 1 in 2,000 4X4 vehicles, or maybe even bigger odds than that. Today we have ROADS so people don't have to go over mountains, rivers, streams, snow capped peaks, like the pioneers used to do.
  8. Nice lookin' builds Ron and I just love dem Mopars!
  9. A 4 X 4 for winter driving? I've been driving for over 50 years here in the Midwest and never had a 4X4 or AWD vehicle, and yes I went to work everyday. They PLOW the snow where I live and where I hafta go.
  10. Life is tough Harry.
  11. I hafta agree with lordairguitar as I know and frequent the same hobbyshops that he talks about. Because of the high price of gas, I don't visit those hobby shops as much as I like to, but they are my FAVE shops with great selections, staff, and prices.
  12. My favorite year Corvette and lookin' real good. Is that the Revell kit?
  13. I'm likin' that Charger build and maybe you would be better off with a blue interior rather than the red? I just love dem Mopars!
  14. Awesome builds Randy, really good work and color choices.
  15. Some of the larger hobby shops carry colored acetate sheets usually under the "Midwest" name and I think I saw some at my local Hobby Lobby as well.
  16. Cool build!
  17. Welcome to the forum Brad as it is a great place to be. I was in Portland, Maine this past October and enjoyed it very much.
  18. I use WHITE primer under ALL colors as the grey primer seems to change the hues of the color one is spraying. I only use grey primer if I'm painting the car black or silver. I find that colors will not "pop" over grey primers, but they will over white primer.
  19. The nose piece makes the car look "clunky" and reminds me of the "Slingshot" Dragster kit. What do you think?
  20. Relax, the forecast for tomorrow is 82 degrees and sunny, but that's for Honolulu. Hopefully I'll get back there someday.
  21. I remember that old MPC, but I don't remember if I had it or not. Must be gettin' old?
  22. Welcome to the forum Bob and I was about to ask for a pic of your 1:1 car, but you beat me to it. I just love dem Mopars!
  23. If the oil filter is chrome plated, give it a coat of Testors Dull Cote and it'll look a lot closer to the aluminum oil filter. Also works on plated wheels, Moon tanks, front bumpers for funny cars or match racers, etc.
  24. Wow Alan, that DeSoto came out lookin' good. and I really like your choice of colors also. I just love dem Mopars!
  25. I tend to finish the same amount of model cars every year, never enough. Seriously, I've finished five this year, and hope to finish another. I've been known to finish a model on New Years Eve.
