Revell has some great Mopar kits, however JoHan has a much better selection and MCW has some good Mopar items as well. Of course Modelhaus has the '68 Dodge Coronet R/T kit that everybody thinks that Revell or another company would make before hell freezes over, but they can "dream on."
I've used Testors White Primer many times with great results and Tamiya White Primer as well. I don't do any spoon/sprue tests and whatever happens, happens. so far I've been very lucky as I don't test colors either. I just shoot from the hip.
I only use grey primer if the color coats are to be black or silver. White primer will give your color coats a truer color as the grey primer darkens them a tad.
I know the people who own the Chi-Town Hustler and I heard that when Revell went to the garage to take measurements as well as measurements of the Hawaiian, that the cost of tooling the CTH was to be $148,000 and it is the ONLY funny car with the offset engine and driver compartment.
JD is a VERY talented builder and won big a few times when Craig Sincora and I were runnin' the contest for Tom Lima Jr. at the Hillside Holiday Inn back in the mid-80's
I would like one in a heartbeat as I had to have mine put down almost three years ago. But we redecorated the house including new carpeting, and my asthma doctor suggests I don't have any cats or dogs. Yeah, I could get another doctor. LOL!
It takes money to make money Harry. And even if you could afford those cars back then, do you have a place to store them? Would you have money to insure them? And don't forget about money to maintain them as well. A LOT of people don't think of those things when they go to car shows & cruise nights and just figure on the price of a car they would like. I know of one guy who recently bought a Buick Grand National and has to pay $175 a month for a garage to store it as he lives in a condo. He shoulda thought about that first.
Good time at the S.L.A.M. club meeting today with an auction and of course FOOD also. Lots of kits, resin bodies, magazines, posters, hats, large scale kits, paints, etc. on the auction table.
