  1. Very well see this happen? I HIGHLY doubt it.
  2. I've only got two kits from EVIL-bay and had my brother-in-law and good friend bid and purchase them as they have Pay-Pal accounts. I really need another kit, parts, tools, etc. like a need another hole-in-the -head and that's why I myself won't venture into that territory. So far it's working really good for me. I know there are LOTS of guys who shop the "bay" and if it works for them, that's great!
  3. Looks like I'll be attending the swap meet at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton and of course buyin' even MORE stuff that I don't need. Oh well.
  4. Congrats as that Charger is lookin' good! You can't help how many entries will show up at a contest. Ya just gotta love dem Mopars!
  5. From what I have read in the past, all of Art Anderson's comments seem to fit right in there in the history of model car kits.
  6. If you want the '68 Dodge Coronet R/T, the Modelhaus offering looks great as I picked one up recently.
  7. Nice builds Cliff, real nice I sure wish I had some of my old builds.
  8. My first BMF job was done in the early 80's and it still looks good today. I always apply the BMF over the "final" coat of paint whether it be a color coat or clear coat.
  9. I'm glad things went well and are looking well for you Terry. I hope you have a SPEEEEEDY recovery.
  10. While I don't spend enough of my time working on my model kits like I should. I really don't have the time to spend taking notes of how much money I've spent on a particular kit, or the number of hours either. I build for enjoyment and keeping track of anything besides the parts I'm using is way too busy for me.
  11. I've used Preston's distributors for a long time and switched about two years ago to M.A.D. products as I like them even better.
  12. There will be an AMG club meeting next Friday Sept. 6th at the Waterstone Bank at 6:30 pm. I hope you can join us.
  13. VERY cool build Bernard, excellent!
  14. I was, but I just got a new grandson today and will be at the hospital on Saturday for awhile. Hope to get out to a show on Sunday and a cruise night on Monday though.
  15. I got a beautiful new GRANDSON today and I thank God. Yeah, also my daughter and son-in-law too. YAY!!!
  16. I would say that it's slowly shrinking as most of the guys in the hobby are older. While there are younger guys in the hobby as well, it's not like it was in the 60's where plastic kits were flyin' off the hobby shop shelves. Speaking of hobby shops, where are they? The number of shops are shrinking as well. When the guys that started building back in the 50's & 60's are no longer here or can no longer build anymore, I don't see the younger builders keeping this hobby alive for any length of time.
  17. There's also going to be a BIG 1:1 car show on the 31st in downtown Kenosha on the 31st of this month and I'm sure they'll be plenty of photo ops for reference pics for your future builds.
  18. Nice build on that "bowtie" as it's lookin' good. I have the 1/16th scale '55 Nomad kit somewhere in my "stash."
  19. When I order resin kits, bodies, or parts, I'd like to receive them during my lifetime and I don't care about the seller's life or excuses. If one wants to be in business, take care of business or get out.
  20. Good luck Terry.
  21. That 'Vette is a real beauty Marco, just an excellent job!
  22. I've got a 1:1 car show to go to on that very same day, so I'm still debating where I'll be on that Sunday morning. I should know by next week. I really don't need anymore models, but I haven't been there in awhile and it would be great to see all the guys I know from over the past 35+ years.
  23. ]This "fade" paint job was done in the early 70's using AMT Lacquers in "rattlecans" over a gold base. They are all candy colors. No mask, just freehand. http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz104/itsagas1320/Model%20Cars/DSC00916.jpg
  24. That's pretty simple as it's Castrol's and Ford's money, and their choice.
