  1. 53 Revell Bel Air I did las year. Lots of aftermarket stuff ( top/wheels/Hydraulics/dash knobs/photoetch parts etc)  Also did some kit bashing ( engines / firewall stuff / body parts) and scratch building ( visor, bumper guards, bloomers, etc)

Some vendors I used for aftermarket parts: 3DScaleparts, Detail junkies, BNL, Modelhaus, Detail master , Derek Herb,, Replicas Miniatures of Maryland

  2. Other than the wheels and tires.. Jk . It seems to be a classic opening statement on here before complementing a model. Hey nice build, love the paint schemes, side skirts, did u make ur own? And the lowrider theme is nice, I like good clean lowrider a with no murals or graphics like this one :)

tks, yeah scratch built the skirts, rockers and gravel shields

  3. Thanks everyone. When I first painted I did not like color. I thought it was not appropriate for a 57 and did not stand out/flow with body. I painted engine 3 times due to issues with paint. At one point I was going to shelve it and forget about it. Once complete it grew on me and decided Teal looked good on a 57.

  4. Took roof off a 56´bel air. Used a lot of parts from a 55 chevy vert kiy even though they are different scale. Cut both bumpers to make one that would fir the 56 with a continental kit, cut convertible boot and stretched it. added sun visors. Do not recall where wire wheels cam from. Paint I had colors custom mixed at local automotive paint store. I mused same two colors to make interior colors. scrathbuild bottom rockers , gravel shields and skirts.

  5. 57 Chevy Vert. Light Teal Pearl base followed by 3 coats of Kandy Teal. Buried in clear. Almond colored interior. Pegasus 1101's with knockoff's from a 61' Chevy vert kit. Lowered to get the mean look. Hard to get what color looks like on camera. First pic is closest to real color. Rest come out with a darker shade.

  6. Bueno!

    I love everything about it.

How did you do the decals? Did you photo reduce an image and print it onto decal paper?

Really beautiful looking ride. The pearl roof goes really well with the green.

    Top skills.

yeah I just reduce an image , play around in photoshop to get color I want and print on testor decal paper.

  7. 61 Imapla. Painted a custom pearl dark green with white top/some light pearl added. Murals printed and installed by myself. Blended them in to paint with airbrush. Pegasus 1109 wire wheels , slammed to get that lowrider look. Engine stock just painted engine block same color as body and alclad chromed everything else.

  8. A lighter , the original messed up windshield, a piece of clear plastic from some Pegasus 1109 rims package and some burned fingertips and whala I have a windshield now. Just have to tweak it a little and it should fit fine.

  9. I have done a share of 61's over the years and I wanted to do something different. I bough seats from detailjunkies.com . I had to change it up since I was getting bored using factory interior. Console is from a Buick Gran National. Color is a custom purple mixed by me topped by 5 coats of House of Kolor Kandy Burple. Engine was not wired or detailed just a straight build , quick and easy.

  10. Nice looking Regal, bout time there was more lowriders on here....... :) ....... Murals are amazing, did you get the undies etc chrome plated or is that spray?? Look forward to more ....... Lowlife ! !

used alclad for parts that were not chromed. Bumpers are bare metal foil.

  11. how did you achive that great looking woodgrain finish on the interior parts/ pcs??

how did you achive that great looking woodgrain finish on the interior parts/ pcs??

just used testor color "rust" and scratched it up a bit once dry.

  12. NICE PAINT! What colors did you use?

I go to local automotive paint store. Owner and I have become friends over time. He sells about 8oz bottles of any color I take to him except kandys and pearls. Charges about 5 bucks a bottle. Pearls for about 6 bucks a bottle. He mixed 2 body colors from a picture I took to him of a real car painted those colors. Interior color I mixed myself using his mixes as base.

  13. I tried to convert the gran national as much as possible to get a Regal out of it. Took engine from a Monte Carlo kit, removed center console off and got resin bench seat, modified hood/trunk , added styrene made bottom rockers, printed digital dash decal and other small things here and there.
