  1. after a few buttholes specifically uniongoon and modelpullarn made some stereotypical comments about cars i build i decided to take a break from the hobby it didnt even start with hi riders first it was lowriders then imports then got to highriders same bs different cars. if you dont like the car dont look or post some stupid **** especially when its singling out a group of people. till then im gonna go build a real car so i can go be a drug dealer and hang out with big wheel cars and my extended swing arm riding bike friends. a lot of kids like these cars none of them will bother building any if thats the flack they expect.

  2. That is a sweet ride lownslow. I really like it. Where do you get a lift kit like that? do you have to buy a truck model and take it or is there some aftermarket kit you can buy?

scratchbuilt, you could buy one of the revell kits since theyre chrome but sometimes its too wide and to pay 16 dollars for a car with a lift kit thats is easy to make isnt worth it if you know how to do lifts

  3. Every day I see a few cars on the road that have colors that I would like to use on model cars. I am very, very, new to air brushing. Can I go to the local auto parts store, get a small bottle of touch up paint, thin, and apply to a model? Hints?

only ones i know are plastikote they make 2 oz bottles but i heard you had to do something else aside from thinning them ive never tried them. let me know how that goes

  4. yeah been around in modeling for a long time. It had been surpassed by better tapes like Tamiya, liquid mask, BMF and other forms. I was never real fond of it becuase it had limited stick and fell off easily.

It's not the future but the past. :D

I think I still have a roll of it that I probably would have just given to you....

i threw mine out waste of money Tamiya and RC liquid mask is all i use now with the occasional painters tape

  5. Dade lift, I assume that is Dade county Florida, same state where they ruin corner carving sportbikes with fat rear tires and stretched swingarms. And I wasn't inferring you were a coke dealer, but anyone who would build a real 1:1 out of an expspensive car like that, well if I were a cop,it would be my first thought.

you might as well stop you already got the attention of the certain people in another forum and im not gonna do anything to stop them from tearing you a new one

  6. no offense lownslow, but how old are you? That was a fairly immature response & I suggest you watch your mouth, as this messageboard is frequented by plenty of younger people, who's parents my not appreciate your flagarant use of "Americanese".....

he earned, im old enough but being called a drug dealer or having people i know be called drug dealers because of the cars we drive is bound to get you a french response

  7. my my... looks like these donks, boxes, and bubbles are really gettin to people lownslow... i suggest you keep building 'em!! ;)

im gonna theyre not gonna stop me their the reason kids wont even get into models because garbage like them keep holding the hobby behind the times

  8. looks good dude! i'm all for a good clean looking car. it just sux when you see the millions of these on the road that look like they were painted using krylon on beaten up dented box or bubble caprices!

but ya know how it goes....one mans trash is another mans treasure.

someones gotta start somewhere ive seen plenty of muscle with spraypaint colors and a few hotrods as well we alll dont have the time and money as others do

  9. Totally boss.......yeah, right... Looks plain stupid, like something from the early seventies, when MPC had these Mild or Wild '71 kits. The Wild version was often a highrider like these donks. And why the donk word, that sounds stupid as well.... sorry guys, maybe I'm "getting too old for this ######" like Danny Glover said in the movie Lethal Weapon....

And the so called lowriders with wheels sticking out of the wheelwells, that looks stupid too!

you mustve not read my message entirely you have a problem with it find yourself elsewhere

SO GET THE WALKIN AND KICK ROCKS YOU GERIATRIC PUNK

  10. It's nice too see, actually an expensive car with those wheels, not some junker piece of ###### that looks like a retarded monster truck.

    It's nice, I like it. ;)

its gonna be sad when its done cause itll be headed to the hobby shop to show it off for a few weeks. hes had a few customers asking if he did any custom work and he knew i did it so in favor ill build him a few customs and score freebies.

  11. Kids got me a paasche VL air brush set and D500 compressor for my "B" day in February. I'm now ready to try to figure it out. I've got the lesson booklet that came with it along with three different needle and tip combinations. I want to go through the lesson book to see just what does what, but don't want to go through a big cleaning routine every few minutes. My first thought was to shoot food coloring. I know, not like real paint, but easy clean up by just running water through the system. Not at all ready to paint any models yet, just want to get the feel of it. What do you guys recommend? Aren't acrylics water based? If so, could I use them with just the water flush for clean up?

use acrylics i started with createx then moved to faskcolor then autoair to now using laquers and tamiya

  13. yo lownslow

i didnt mean to get u mad and all that so heres my appoligy

now if we cool tell me where the prob is and ill fix it

    so we cool or what?

im not really the one you should be apologizing to but a lot of people at the ECR forum took it as a slap to the face

Like them or hate them, you probably won't be seeing Donks, bubbles, boxes or those jacked up monster trucks much longer except in plastic.

I took an auto extrication class last November (again, they keep changing the way they build cars, which changes how we rip them apart) and according to the instructor getting rid of these altered ride height vehicles is a high priority for the Department of Transportation and many State police agencies. They cause damage and injuries way out of proportion to their size and speed, normal cars are not built to be hit by a car 3 feet off the ground. His belief is they will not be street legal in most states within the next 3-5 years. At the least they will probably be required to have a stock height bumper which will make them look even stranger, almost Picaso like.

So enjoy them or hate them while you can, they might become an endangered species.

if thats the case theyll go after lifted trucks of any height and outlaw bull bars

I have yet to figure out how people get in and out of these things.

tried it not that hard at all grab the wheel and up you go most cars have grab handles by the door hinge
