sweet lowrider

the camaro is available in both forms all it would take is painting and decal skills and someone already sells the decals for the new camaro. there was no charger in the movie that was a saleen stang. the solstice wasnt all that great in the movie but i would kill to have optimus prime and ironhide in scale
-
this started as a 79 cadillac lindberg hopper kit i ended up throwing the guts out and made a slammer it sat like that for 3 years did some cleaning yesterday and ran into it again while organizing the wheel collection so i cleaned it up built a suspension and added the monster truck wheels no engine though its strictly curbside

it was too plain
-
began painting it about 2 months ago had to take a break because of the wrist got halfway there im hoping to do the foil next week and the interior after that. the candy is HOK tangerine the wheels are Asanti off a unknow jada
-
thats nice you got the look down. im reworkign mine i want to do it more Cayey style with the louvers and the Oneal decal on the window dropped on BFgoodrichs
-
it was supposed to be a gasser but changed my mind itll have a v8 since its built for it 58 caps, lowered suspension and pegasus tires
the cavalier has a lot ahead the stereo has to be redone but other than that its just sitting till i bmf then clear it pretty much lowered on XS wheels
last but not least the cowboy cadillac it pretty much speaks for itself just waiting till i get around to painting ii and build a chassie
-
still looks the same swapped the wheels, buffed the windows, and waxed the paint
-
where you get the stock delorean
-
started as a promo then it sat for a while looking like this

Do they ever ad a flapper to those stacks for keeping the rain out?
no some cars have a vent hole cut out under others have a drain out and some dont care
-
i built this thing 2 or 3 years ago it had some huge tires like 215/80/15 was my guess i swapped them out with the ones i put up from the resin thread and dropped the suspension and added the crazy japanese style exhaust
-
got a set of 4 done i have to retake pics of the molds theyll be on today for sure
-
Is the smooth on version flexible and stretchy? My master is slightly smaller than the wheel itself so the tire can have a good solid fit. If worse comes to worse, I'll get the Micro Mark stuff and make two or three molds.
Nic
its semi rigid i wouldnt try stretching the tire over anything bigger than a 16 inch in scale those are 15s in the pic
-
Nice work there. The Micro Mark Tire Casting Rubber I use has a 24 hour cure time. I use a traditional two part mold to cast tires. I'd like to see a pic of your mold.
yeah i was trying to avoid that 16 hours was too long as it was the stuff im actually using is Smooth On/smooth cast 45D demolds in about 2 hours and is very paintable even though im using dye. i got run of the mill molds ill post a pic manana
-
What kind of resin did you use? I was trying to find something I could make nice flexible tires with.
Thanks,
Nic
i used smooth cast 42D
-
went through a lot of trouble trying to cast them(stupid 16 hour dying time resin my
) but finally got them complete can you believe i spent 4 years tracking a kit with those tires
-
pretty basic as far as it goes it s a tamiya silhouette celica with aoshima wheels going for the wild japanese look
-
i was gonna use a pressure pot to take care of the bubbles i was thinking of casting the tire backwards so i retain the detail on one side of the tire since theyre tapered to the inside
-
anyone give me any pointers on how its done
-
