  1. Been working on getting the sun roof holes filled.its gettin there slowly was looking at maybe choosing a different sbc from some that look more correct and less issues.trans is coming along.will post a few pics soon.

I bought a old beatup Revell movin out van..glued mess it is.the frame was of interest to me cause in our model club here, they thought it was best if I make this a C10 instead of a K20..sense its not badged right...I don't know..still thinking what this one will be..thanks for all the interest.....Chris

  2. wow!!  4x4..yes..getting closer to what I want to build. the 1/2 tons will be cool.will be getting a few.I wsnt to made f350s..the badging is a big problem for me.im the real or 1/1 65's ,do they have the same engines available as the  70's do?

Agree with ya all..Dodges would be great,so would 73-74 chev/gmc.

    • thsnk ya Dave,Steve an Art...take care..will be looking for more pictures and info when there ready..Chris
  3. Nice work Greg. .funny I have a few of these vans.from unbuilt/un touched. they all seem to have the edge problem. I believe the length was cause these vans/tooling was originally a window van.csuse it was passenger vans.they were long. My stepfather was going to buy one.which instead he bought a chev c30 crewcab..he had a farm.anyways...I'm building a g30 van/tradesman in blue to copy that window/passenger van he wanted...lots of work...and your doing well on this.do you know what the color is going to be before the murals get painted?..what wheels this badboy will have?......Chris

  4. One can wonder why AMT went to the Walking Beam when they dropped the Torsion Bar.
Kenworth had other suspensions to choose from other than the Torsion Bar and Walking Beam, they also had the 4-bag Dual Air Spring and the Big Six Six-Rod Leaf Spring for the dual drive, they also had the Page & Page and Monkey Motion suspension for the single drive with push or pull axle.

Monkey motion?..never heard og it..any pictures of this one or the page an page system...Chris

  5. I sure love this one.my friend showed up with a gift. .this kit.can't wait to get to start the build. there is a few going on righy now thay need to be finished first.thanks to Dave M and Moebius.....Chris

I was going to add a picture.but the site says it has to be a 10.kb picture.I don't know how to do that,so no picyure..sides you all know what it looks like.

  6. Well thank you John I greatly appreciate your kind words.yes my nephew means alot to me.its not easy.my sister suffering the worst.we have been through it before to.life isn't easy.modeling is away to escape to a world of peace.

back to modeling...yes I decided 2 months ago.its gping yo be a Plymouth 1968 Roadrunner.there is a story behind all my builds.I'm going to make it a barn find..but it was not in the barn but out in the weedd behind the barn.its going to be without the front fenders as they were removed and primed.no engine but transmission still in it.in the mid 70's was raced..so it was a street runner.

In my young life I worked for a company called National Speed Equipment here and a few others involved in this company.I used to go rescue cars an pickup from the junkyards.we would use a trailer and truck to go get them out of where they were at.alot of times they were in fields..in the weeds with no engines.miss parts.well this Plymouyh 68 Roadrunner is going to look like what we used to go get out of thr fields here.

So I'm going to build the firewall and bulk head.I got the kit which is AMT 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner. I've cut off the front fenders now.I'm collecting parts.I got the monster N50 15's from Fireball.of course the tires have to be wore out..to my burn outs as we call it in those days. started all the processes for this part . here's a few pictures to show you where its at..thank you for asking John.you have a great day...Chris

  8. Ok,the trailers tires have gotten here today.I ordered three different sets and picked the Scale Unlimited T25 Goodyear Atlas set.they fit the rims..perfectly. the right width, height and fit the rim not to tite but tite enouch.most of all look right for the lowered fenders..for me.the hitch and receiver, battery came as well.

the pictures are of my crude mock up with the before cut back fender and the after back cut I removed about 1/8 of a inch from the height AMTERTL_1994_car_trailer_40_scaleunlimit,..I like it better.I made a styrene plastic jig to back cut the fenders.it was easier to me..the other pictures of the tires I'm going with and the rims.this project is going again.its amazing how looking for the right tires and life problems get in your way.

Daniel at Scale Unlimited is and has amazing product lines.I highly recommend taking a look..smokin parts.

  9. Yes,sorry been sick and had my nephew end his life..he means alot to me.I'm waiting for tires from scenes unlimited.Daniel an I got figured out the tires for it.there on there way.I took a few picture of what its going to be towed by and got the fenders back cut.the pictures I took were terrible so I'll take a few more now some of the life is ssettling down.thanks for the interest....Chris

  10. I wished it was a longbed.cause making longbeds out of 6ft shortbeds mean two kits, while if you want a short 6ft bed..its just subtracting the plastic  and two cuts. it costs less.if you make a couple of these..there is alot of parts left over...ya know...oh well.....Chris

  11. I use all these things above, but I shy away from the half dozen hemostats have because they like to crush plastic.

I also have a few small hand clamps that work well, especially for sanding.

    Mike,

What hnd clamp are you referringto..I'd like to know.

Isn't there a adjustable hemostat that doctors use.it has a screw adjust on it.?

Thank you all for your suggestions . ..I saw this..has anyone used it before?.....Chris
