  1. wow, this was a thread worth bringing to the top. if that's his wife, he is one lucky dude to have someone that understands him so well..lols
  2. this past weekend. i resisted the urge to buy kits...lols passed on 2 kit that were on clearance and 3 that i should have bought just to trade with someone here..oh so hard to put back. so instead i bought some paints, 6 cans of tamiya spray cans and 3-4 bottles of acrylic, tamiya weathering applicator(clearance) and microballoon filler.
  3. that looks sweet. love it bro BIGthumbs ups!
  4. hey man, welcome to the forum. nice monte carlo. any more pics? try to resize them 800x600 and use photobucket, fotki to load them on here. this way you dont have to use the attactment option.
  5. here goes, a bit of an update. started on the gutted panels, "sheet metaled" the rear spare wheel well. getting it ready for the fueling set up. dug out my levin/trueno bible for reference. oooof, lots of plumbing. and then theres the fender. i put some putty, basic shape. still need work.
  6. tuned in bro. love the story lines you come up with. right off the bat, it's sad.
  7. that is sweet. has plenty of character.
  8. the celica that pops into my mind is the yellow ultimate celica with the awd converted set. i still have the mag issue. i dig the engine set up, looking forward to more
  9. haha, art. so your the dude in the last pic in my album??
  10. im tuned in. you can see the differences. so far, which do you think is looking better?
  11. i saw this at the show i went to. it was for the replicas table. i was wondering the same thing.. would be cool, like the 1:1 shows.
  12. wow, well it's no surprise. things are going to get worse and harder for everyone. the "green" thing sounds good, but i know there are cons to it. they just don't want to say them. after reading the cfl light bulb thing, i think im switching back to the old bulbs. i am not putting my kids in danger to save a few bucks on the electric bill.
  13. congrats. pretty cool for it being the first show.
  14. hey bud, good to see things look up for you. see these projects back is awesome. i love all the work going on here. it's like a real shop.. keep up the great work and looking forward to more updates.
  15. hey bud, you have my attention on here and spc. loving the engine work. as for replies and comments, well from what i notice and i dont speak for anyone but myself. there is a lot more attention to muscle cars and rods on here. every forum is different. i build mostly j-tin and still post up updates cause there is a small handful that follow and even if they didnt follow, there are several that view the thread. although they dont leave replies, BUT they are looking. dont let the lack of replies or comments get you down. it's a fantastic looking build and the effort you are putting into it is there. with out you saying what you were doing to the warped chassis, i already knew that you were not going to give up. keep up the great work and just build for you.
  16. cool, its on a sunday, so ill most likely roll on in. what's around in the area?? stores, mall stuff like that. in case that the wife and kids get a bit tired.
  17. nice elco. aoshima kranze wheels seem to always just as good on american muscle as it does on j-tin
  18. wow 40 years! what took you so long thats a sweet merc. looks as if you haven't forgetten how to build. well welcome to the forum and welcome back to the hobby. looking forward to what else comes out from your sleeve.
  19. it does get crazy out there with shipping charges. sucks really. i see on ebay that prices fluctuate between sellers and some are in the same country. i bought some kits with in the US and only 2 out of the 10 or so kits i bought, had the same amount charged on the package as it was on ebay. the rest charged anywhere from 2-10 dollars more. which means they didnt use the shipping method that they claimed would use. example: i tell you it's going to cost $15 to ship priority, well the shipping label says 2.84 regular postage, not priority..now that's BS.
  20. hahaha, nice one. when i read the SCAM part i cracked up..gotta love today. i hope to find some mags at the LHS this weekend wish me luck
  21. hey bud, welcome to the forum and back to the hobby. your off to a good start. ill be looking forward to more progress on this. keep up the great work
  22. when you said "hot wheels" i thought you replicated a hot wheel car in 1/24. but then i saw the grill and said holy hell, that is awesome! i was thinking of doing this to some that i have. you have inspired me to try it in the coming months.
  23. those guys have talent! maybe HE IS EXCITED! to let us know..
  24. thanks guys for the info. i spoke to her, yup comes to find out he is a her. lols. after all this advice, i decided that i would build it as long as she pays for the kit, aftermarket parts ect..along with a hint that it can go past 100 bucks. once i do the work and she is happy with the out come, that she can "donate" a payment of what she feels its worth. i feel that this option could be the right one. this way it doesnt turn into a "job" so we'll see what happens there. thanks again guys.
  25. im loving the livery. your build is perfection from a not so perfect kit. bravo
