Hey guys, hows it going? Havent built a model in ages, but recently picked it back up. Decided to do a copy of my 1:1 85 z28. Some fun pics of that: (what it used to look like, in bare metal waiting for primer now) Build thread on the local forum if anyone is intested: http://starcityracing.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=53454&highlight=zjustin28 Will be a streetable drag car basically. 2001 5.3, turbonetics 78mm turbo, C&S specialties e85 850cfm blow through, dana 60 rear, th400. Full suspension, should be good for 750-800 to rear wheels. Blah blah, on to the model talk. I want to build it as close as i can of a copy. Not just same colors, but exactly like mine. I have a dana 60 resin axle on order, a resin th400, wheels, turbo, etc. Working on shaving the engine bay right now. The monogram kit has a lot of molded in details, so having to do some modiying to make it like mine. Using a ls motor out of a trans am, should look close enough. Doors, and hatch will open Thats where i'm at now. I also have the 1/8 scale monogram iroc ill be building here soon as well. If anyone has a lead on the 1/16 Revell iroc kit, i would greatly appreciate it!

Nicely done! Saw one of these in person at a collectors .... collection here in nebraska. Looks pretty darn close! -
Just an out of box build. Didnt feel like getting too crazy with it. First finished build since i started modeling again. Kinda missed it! Color is Plymouth Plum Crazy Metallic (rattle canned) Opinions appreciated!

Curious if anyone knows where i could find a set of these? Its the AMT fast and furious yenko camaro kit. Thanks.

Okay, thats kinda what i figured. appreciate it!

Just kinda curious, whats the point of em? Like, where would the come into play? For example, if i wanted these : http://www.pegasushobbies.net/catalog_641/product_info.php?cPath=3_25&products_id=289 Would i need sleeves? Or they come as pictured? Also, when ordered liek that, do you get all 4 wheels, or just two?

So, friend gave me this kit, it was pre assembled, just a box stock. Im planning on doing a hybrid between pro stock and beefy street rod, somewhere on that line. First order of business was chopping the top. Tops are way to high on f100s i think. No pictures of progress, but i took maybe 2mm out of the top. Didnt wanna do to much. (obviously not finished, need more putty for it.) I then decided i wanna do something different with the bed. At first, i wanted to do a real wood bed, but then thought thats not to 'pro stock-ish'. Unsure of what i'll do there, but i'll figure something out. Next were tubs. It's gonna have slicks/DR's, so obviously needed a little more room. Havent finished the tub well area, just the tubs themselves are done. Follow a tutorial i found on here for the tubs. Involved two strips of styrene, wrapping em around a pop cap, and gluing a piece to the back of it. Im extremely happy with how they turned out. Again, obviously not finished, but i jsut got this kit today, not too bad for 1 days work As for engine, its got a decent stock one, may just detail up that one. Wheels will probably be somethign from Weld. Maybe a prostar or something fancy shmancy like that. Stay tuned!

Will probably be spraying color tonight. Doing GTS blue form Dodge.

Got a junkyard camaro on ebay. Seller said unsure of scale, but looks similar in pics. Has the rear window, and a few other parts i need! Just finished the patches for the t-tops. Here is what i started off with: Decided instead of building this to prostock, just gonna build a nice street rod with it. Get he LAPD drag camaro to do that with later. It will be getting a blown engine, undecided yet, but somethign form gibson. Will probably do custom exhaust (just a simple muffler dump after the headers).

Awesome! Im actually just smoothing the styrene i put in place of the t-tops. Just need to get some putty to get the lines away, but filling in t-tops is a success so far!

Is this website still selling?
zjustin28 posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Stumbled on this website the other day, seem to have one of the largest selections of wheels ive seen. Obviously would be a little more expensive shipping wise. Just wondering if anyone has ordered/knows anything about this place: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/car/ -
So, got this 89 iroc z on ebay. Got it and it was painted, stripped it down, and started to make some patches to fill in the t-tops (making a strip car out of it, t-tops dont belong on the strip). SO anyways, this guys listing said it had all pieces, however, is missing a good bit of engine parts (getting a custom one anyways from gibson), and is missing the t-top glass (would of made my patching job much easier), and also the rear windshield (kinda the big problem). SO, i guess, 1; where could i possibly find spare parts? Doesn't seem like this kit is to popular (AMT # 6272). Would a rear window from say a firebird model kit from amt work? (i know 1:1 it would, but ya never know...) 2; if anyone has a junk one of these, or a line on one, info would be appreciated. Thanks!
