1. More well-fitting body parts…
2. I wish they would fix the problem too... The headlights are designed to go together very cleanly. The photos show up here...: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=7227808#post7227808
3. The parts fit continues to impress.
4. Thanks guys! I'll keep posting in the hopes the people who run the board can sort out the problem. The glass is in except for the lower door windows. Beautifully engineered to fit and trap the glass in place.
5. Before I added the roof and glass parts I test fitted this assembly over the chassis/interior. It fell into place easily (and was a lot harder to remove than install). I used the LP Smoke paint for the top glass pieces. It says not to cement these clear parts in, and can be assembled without any, but I used a few tiny drops of canopy glue at the locating tabs just to keep them in place until the center section was installed to lock them to the car. 6. The interior is done.
7. Thanks Ray, I'm pleased with how they turned out too. The dash with the steering wheel and display is installed. The door panels are done, the exterior accent color was used on the struts.
8. I know the same links work fine in other forums. Maybe it's related to the recent software update done here on Sunday. Same timeframe as the photos began to stop showing.
9. The wheels got some blue too.
10. Not sure why some of the images are not showing. I'll see if they post here...
11. Dash…
12. Thanks Ben! The chassis builds up very quickly once all the painting is done. The fit is still excellent so far. I went the accent color for the parking brake calipers.
13. I started painting the seats to match the photos of a real one I found. TS-53 and TS-23 both mixed with Dullcote.
14. Thanks guys! So far the fit of the parts has been nothing short of great. I have completed steps 1 and 2…
15. Thanks guys! The engine is engineered "without parts count escalating excessively", and I'm sure when it's under the glass it will look fine.
16. The calipers are called out to be the same color as the body accent pieces, but I thought the photos of the real car in the instructions indicated otherwise. I liked the anodized look so I used TS-54, TS-17 and TS-72 to get close enough.
17. These are the body parts that will be shot white. (I'm doing the end plates of the rear spoiler in the accent color.)
18. Thanks Carl! I also painted the other gloss black body parts at the same time I repainted the roof section.
19. Thanks guys. The LP-1 Black (thinned with Tamiya lacquer thinner) checked and crazed over the TS-29 as it dried overnight. (The TS-29 was shot 24 hours before the Gloss Black.) Not the first time I've used this paint, but the first time something less than good resulted. So I sanded it out and reshot with decanted TS-14 and had no adverse reaction.
20. I'm building this one straight out of the box, but changing up the colors (compared to the instruction call outs) to match some versions I found online. First up was to paint the single piece monocoque semi-gloss black then gloss black for the cockpit area. I used TS-29 and LP-1.
21. Fictional F-19 Stealth Fighter with an equally fictional digital camouflage scheme. I designed and printed intentionally translucent decals for the camo to allow some of the pre-shading to show through. Otherwise it's built straight out of the box. Testors 1/72nd scale kit.
22. That came out great! The weathering and fine details are very convincing!
23. A coat of flat clear helped quite a bit. It might get some mild weathering later, or not…
24. I sprayed the wheel wells white and gave them a wash of light gray.
25. I built the cockpit as it comes. Looks like it could be detailed up nicely, but since the canopy will be closed I'm good with this level of detail.
