Firstly, hello to you all, new guy to the forum, been looking around a bit and thought I should sign up. I'm a member of a couple of other sites so some users here might already know me. Thought it would be good to post my work here as well so I can get as much advise as I can on my builds as I'm still fairly new at this after giving up on it years ago.
Anyway, my first post. I apologise if this is picture heavy as I've ben working on this project for quite a while now, nearly two years in fact.
I started off with the Fujimi kit of the 1994 model Nissan 300ZX. I started out building it box stock with a tan/grey interior and a gunmetal body colour which was then over sprayed with smoke leaving a gunmetal racing stripe down the middle.
The chassis was painted flat black and drybrushed with gunmetal.
That body's paint job didn't turn out too well and so I stripped it back to primer with the intention of tryng again. That never happened and it sat on the shelf for quite awhile until I had the idea of building my own body kit and painting it a clear green over silver colour. The front end of the body kit was easy enough although I didn't really have a plan for the shape, it all sorta just fell together. Same for the sides realy. It was the back that gave me the most headaches as I couldn't get it to look quite how I wanted. I also had an issue with the new rear bumber being too low to the ground, in fact, touching the ground. Here are some comparison shots of before and after the scratch work.

The new base coat was Gunze's Aqueous Hobby Color H8 Silver which went down with three mist coats and two wet coats with a light wet sanding inbetween wet coats. Over the top of this I sprayed H94 Clear Green. Unfortunately the green hasn't gone down as evenly as I'd like, my skills with an airbrush are still quite low, and I've run out of paint. So when I get some more I'll give the body a light wetsanding and another wet coat of the green. Its already recieved three mist coats and two wet coats but in some areas, most notably in the panel lines, the green hasn't gotten right in.
The interior has had a makeover too with a stereo system being added to the back, Recaro style racing seats and Momo steering wheel eing added. I don't have any decent pics of the interior yet so will leave them for a future post.
I'm happy to receive any advise and critque anyone cares to offer on this build.
Thanks
Wil
