  1. I cant recall if I posted this before, but some friends asked for some pics again. I built this for Steve Wares (owner) and it was raffled off and given to Jeff Mitrisin (driver) this spring. If I remember it was a 2-3 week build and that included all of the decal creation from photos.
  2. Thanks guys, I'll have to check out Jake's Atlas, haven't been on the DRM forum much lately... Its getting there, got most of the fab work done tonight, four links are done, all that is left is 4 scratch built shocks, exhaust and driveshafts...
  3. So I got another project in the mix... I must have MBADD (model builder attention deficit disorder) ANYHEW, been wanting to do this for along time, turning out to be pretty big, looks like I'll have to make a smaller 4cyl version later... *UPDATE* So I have had this sitting for quite some time, thanks for reminding me about it. It will make it back to the bench this week...
  4. Here is a peek at the box art for the Deuces Wild...
  5. Here is my RUSH project for and old friend....
  6. Thought I'd check in with the progress on my 2wk sprintcar project. Its for a friend in Knoxville, IA who owns the car. Only they need it in by the 17th for a fundraiser! UPDATE- It's SOOOO close, got the PERFECT decals from dstadick tonight, (even got hand delivered) Some Final assembly, nerf bars, subtle weathering and its of to Iowa! Have everything in paint, ready to make the decals from the pics they sent me. Decided to experiment with duplicating the current Weld wheels they are running. Started with the 5spokes from the old Dodge Stealth kits and cleaned out the original Centerlines to create the one on the left.
  7. This is where it stands as of tonight. Alittle more clean-up on the tread, perhaps re-shape the sidewall slightly and into resin for a useable piece!
  8. Hey guys- I am starting to pay some attention to this again. The boy is BIG right at an inch wide. My frame measures less than an inch i.d. which means more mods to make it fit. But thats the look I wanted.
  9. Scale-Master is right... it is only 1/25 scale. But it is HUGE! Joel is a friend of mine and you gotta see this thing in person to believe it. The detail he's capable of capturing is unbelieveable!
  10. Howdy Bigjeepzz. "cwbigjeep" btw - sold my real Jeep, hung up the 4wheelin for awhile so I'm changing my names slowly. Ne-how! Great to see your site, GOOD LUCK. I'm still working on some resin stuff but don't have the time to dedicate to it. Later....
  11. Point - Jaffa Counter point - steamboy "good eye", although, if you break it down, the ft tire is a Michelin and the rear is a Goodyear slick. Would a "real" team bike run such a combo? I dunno... I claim artistic freedom of equipment and ignorance on real bike tech stuff. What you don't see is the carbon rr wheel which is out of a Porsche 956 kit. Hardly accurate, but it worked!
  12. Thanks for the comments, Keep us posted on the Winston build, its a fun little kit to tinker with.
  13. Here's another creation I finished just this Nov. 95% scratch built using an old tunnel hull boat and ALOT of styrene. Enjoy!
  14. Don and I have been tirelessly working on our club's website. Please stop in and look around, any comments are welcome and we hope have many NEW things coming in '07. http://rpmmodelclub.com/
  15. Here's a sample of some of my work... I am basically self taught from the pages of Cartoon's (can ya tell...) and a gift to my buddy's Dad...
  16. I want a jar of Fluff to add to my table... Very nice rail too btw...
  17. Our club has an annual White Elephant gift exchange during the holidays. Most guys end up with something WAY out of their area of intrest so not alotta work goes into them typically. I was the "proud" recipient of the MPC 1/20 scale McLaren Mk8d. Well, not on the top of my list to have , and I don't have anything in that scale, so here are the results. A 1/25 scale 70's era Hydro! It sports an opening cockpit and engine deck lid.
  18. It's done! Nice little project too. I created decals and printed them on an inkjet with alittle help from a club member. YOU ROCK DON! Still have to paint the rider yet, have full suit decals for him too. OK, here it is in a nutshell... Heller 1/25 Suzuki 500 kit, raked headtube to lower ft end left out rr swingarm, attached chunk of funnycar cockpit frame stretched and re-shaped rear tire/seat cowling Nascar slick, parts box tranny and electronics scratchbuilt brass wheeliebars designed own decals and had printed on ink-jet any ?s....
