  1. I havent been on here long...but I ran across afew different topics/ posts on here awhile back and now, no matter how many pages i search thru I cant find them. One of them was a How To on doing a set of rear fenders...the process used some pvc tubing about the size of your rear tires, but cant find it now. Other was on a truck build...was a Pete..daycab I believe....that was being done in the outlaw/ gangster theme.. Was looking awesome and wanted to use it for inspiration...but again..I cant find it!!! UGH!!
  2. Thats it....MO'Aluminum!! Knew someone would know!! Well..thats not good....Hmm..keep searching I guess!! Thanks for the comeback!!
  3. Hey..I posted my first post awhile back....basically getting back into models, I drive a 2010 Pete daycab that is stretched, daily hauling hazmat around in a fully polished 2006 4 hole polar tanker. Years ago, I stumbled upon a website that sold custom aluminum scale parts. The things I remember the most are the the vortox "trash can" aircleaners which just looked beautiful. He also had a ton of other stuff on the site, including big Texas style bumpers, aluminum wheels, resin cast fenders, truck conversions, etc. I have been searching and cant seem to find it...or even know if its still around. Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction..or sadly let me know that they are no longer around. MIKE
  4. Missing MATS!!! I have been going for 7 years.... All three days.... Was hooked since day one. Does help that my boss owns a Pete show truck that he had at MATS afew years back....I am responsible for keeping it clean in it's garage at our yard..... Can stare at those trucks all weekend long!
  5. I personally know afew guys with working show trucks...meaning you have to show that the truck has more than afew thousand miles on it. If you knew how much time these guys devoted to keeping their trucks looking the way they do, you would be amazed. And low bumpers are easily taken care of with a set of airbags on the front axle to give you 5-7 inches of added height. They also make a kit that let's your bumper flip up to clear big speed bumps, etc. Want to see some killer show and working show trucks? Head to Louisville, Kentucky from march 31-April 2. It's the largest trucking industry show of the year and also kicks off the show truck season. Thursday night they have the show open at night, so all the trucks can have their lights on. Other two days are daytime only.... There is usually over 100 trucks in the competition. I go every year for all 3 days.... It's what I look forward to all winter.
  6. Thanks for all the info so far..... Glad to find a place full of others that love trucks like I do!!!
  7. I am getting back into models after a loooong time away and I must say, people on this site (especially the truck forum) can do some awesome work!! Awhile back I found some sites that sell scale custom parts....like big stacks, custom fenders, etc. for scale trucks. I followed some links here and found hoods, etc. I remember one site that had everything from custom Pete air cleaners, to wheels, to hoods, to fenders, etc...maybe not around anymore?? My wife heard about me wanting to start doing this again and she came home one day with the Revell 1:24 chrome fuel tanker (believe its german issue..atleast all the text on the box is german!! Hey, Im new!!) I am a Pete guy and I want to make either a stretched frame daycab or a flattop "coffin" sleeper with a stretch for it. I want it to be a 389 and saw on timstrucks.com that he had a resin 389 hood/grill and also the 389 headlights on a project of his. And am looking for any and all help. I work for a company here in Chicago hauling gas/diesel and jet fuels and all of our trucks are 389 stretch daycabs and fully polished Polar tanks...so yeah, I am what they call on the cb...a "tank yanker". And proud of it!! Thanks..cant wait to be part of the group here. And remember...."aint nothing as sweet, as a long nose Pete!!" MIKE
  8. Havent seen the show yet...but I go to all the major trucks shows every year. If the truck Kelvin of K&L was drivin was a totally custom W900...dark blue and black...slammed to the ground and stretched, it is the truck they haul the show trailer with. It used to be white and blue, until they redid it to its current style.
