  1. Wow your scratch biulding skills are great Im looking forward to seeing this one finished

Thanks, this is the only thing I have ever done (in plastic), so that means alot.. Thank you guys for all the comments. Interior is getting primed as we speak. I reached a point where I needed to get some paint on it before enclosing it in. I figured out what to do for some windows (in office area), and will also work for the lower interior doors as well. I will post some pics, when I get a little further ahead in that area. As for the elevator, I have been tring to come up with a simple design, and have a couple of idea's to try out.. Thanks for looking..

  2. Most of the interior is done, minus some overhead cabinets in the crew area. Not to sure what iI will use to make the cushions as of yet, so the benches might seam a tad low at the moment. I also picked up some stuff for glass, I will see how it works out before cutting holes in the sides of the trailer. Any feedback welcome, thanks for looking.

1st pic, shows a couple of die-cast cars on there. Holds up to the weight fairly well..

3rd pic, shows the area from the other side. A table will go between the benches as well..

  3. Ok, got a bit of work done. Most of the lower work area is done, at least for this purpose anyway. Please, any comments or criticism welcom, because I really got no idea what I am doing, but I am having a bit of fun with it...

First pic shows the right inside wall..

  4. It depends on which type of trailer you want to make.....For hinges, you can grab some from the RC dept. at your local hobby shop....They make some that can be used quite easily on trailers....And for windows, you can take just about any packaging clear plastic....My favorite is the clear plastic you can get from Walmart's bakery....Those containers make great windows....And you get to eat the pastry!!!! For wheels and tires, I use the 1/32 scale wheels and tires from the little model trucks you can find at the truck stops all over....They're not super accurate, but you can get, like 5 sets of duals, if you pick one of those triple axle tractor trailer variants....They make great "short tires", if you will....

I've got a few threads in here....You can check my "1/16 scale Pete 379 Livin' Large" in the "Under Glass" section for a basic design....Pretty much a curbside with an interior....Plus a few more threads....Just look around, because I don't know how to post a link to them....

Thanks, it was a couple of your Race Hauler threads that got me thinking iI just might be able to do that. Though iI have built quite a few models in my day, I have never scratch build anything, so it will be interesting. As for tires, I am going full size, have a couple of sets lying around. Thanks for the tip on the glass and RC shops, would not have thought of that.

@martinfan5 that is what I would like to get to. Might be a bit too much for a first project though. How did you do you hinges in the back of the trailer?

  5. Hey, been around watching your builds for awhile, and decided to try out some scratch building of my own. I am going to attempt a Race Car Hauler, but do not want to go full on curbside, but it will not have a super detailed interior either. A couple of questions if you guys do not mind. 1: I am doing this in 1/24 scale, what is the best way to do doors? (meaning hinges) 2: I am using .60 thickness material, is there something I can use for windows? Thanks in advance. At this moment just have 60% of the pieces cut out, so not much to show at the moment, but will get some pics up when it starts coming together. As for what its going to sit behind, I have three Volvos I did not know what to do with, so I will more then likely use one of those.

    Thanks..
