  1. Just to expand a bit on this topic... In general, if you see the word "Retro" on the box lid of any AMT kit, buyer beware. "Retro" is code for "reissued ancient kit that was tooled up a half century ago and will completely disappoint you if you were expecting a detailed, state-of-the-art model kit." If you're ok with that, great! Have at it and enjoy. But if you want more in a kit, steer clear of the "Retro Deluxe" kits.
  2. Hey Art... if you're still there, what (if anything) do you know about the situation concerning the Danbury Mint tooling? I heard that the Chinese government seized it. True?
  3. See what I mean about the model kit manufacturers' family tree being confusing?
  4. What was Bruce Lee’s favorite drink? Wa-taaaaah! What did Jay-Z call his wife before they were married? Feyoncé. A magician was walking down the street when he suddenly turned into a grocery store... Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl going to the bathroom? Because the “P” is silent. Did you hear about those new corduroy pillows? They’re making headlines everywhere! Why couldn’t the lifeguard save the drowning hippie? Because he was too far out, man! Atheism is a non-prophet organization. I wrote a song about a tortilla. Well actually, it’s more of a wrap. What do you call a dinosaur with an extensive vocabulary? A thesaurus. I was at a really emotional wedding last weekend. Even the cake was in tiers.
  5. Very nice! Well done all around. The only nit to pick is you forgot to paint (or foil) the "Barracuda" script on the dash. But that's pretty minor.
  6. I tried googling it. All I could come up with is that AMT claimed that they "lost" the tooling at some point, ans at some later point Lindberg mysteriously "found" it and reissued the kit as their own. Of course, now AMT owns Lindberg... the "family tree" of car model manufacturers must be a real mess!
  7. One of the most bizarre covers ever! Is this a band... or some sort of cult? Hard to say, but as weird as they are, they actually do a pretty decent version of "Heart of Gold"...
  8. Wow! That version of AC-DC's "Thunderstruck" was pretty cool! Talk about "alternative instrumentation!"

    '67 GTX

Beautiful model of a beautiful car. Too bad you can't find the hood ornament. Maybe one of our forum members could help you out?
  10. Styling is subjective. I'm a big fan of '60s MOPAR styling. My first car was a '67 Belvedere... it was 10 years old when I got it, but I loved the looks. Boxy? Yeah, I guess so... but to my eyes, beautiful! It just said "muscle car" to me. To this day a '67 GTX is IMO one of the best looking cars ever.
  11. Very nice! And I have to disagree with your description of the styling as "stodgy." On the contrary, I see typical mid '60s Mopar muscle.
  12. I like the light/dark silver (gray) color scheme. Like Wayne says, classy. But I think your wiper posts may be just a tad too big for scale. And if you can stand one more comment from me... I would have painted the rear panel between the fenders and below the trunk lid to match the fenders.
  13. "Comb free." I like that!
  14. I hope you had INsurance.
  15. That's real nice! I love to see these classics posted...
  16. Yes, technically you're right... Zep's version was a cover of a song written in the 1920s!
  17. Hmmm... no sound...
  18. If you had to carry a bunch of Easter eggs and couldn't figure out how to do it, a basket might be a good solution...
  19. Holy krapp. Is this even better than the original? Ok, these guys are obviously not just "regular people," but a professional Zep cover bad. But still...
  20. Yessir. You give a gift. Give is a verb. Gift is a noun. There is no such thing as "gifting." It's another of those made up nonsense words that modern society seems to adore for some reason that escapes me completely.
  21. I think you're missing the point. It's not about other recording artists doing covers, it's about amateurs... just "regular people" doing covers...
  22. Ok, this takes the cake. "More than a feeling" cover with not a lead guitar... but a lead violin!
  23. Wow! Another spot on cover of "More than a feeling." These no-name bands are amazing...
  24. You can't stop people from covering your songs. Especially if it's just for fun (not sold for profit).
