  1. I have absolutely zero interest in models like that, but IMO any life being shown in the hobby can only be a good thing.
  2. Thanks, guys. This was a fun one to do.
  3. I like that custom Chevelle. Somebody needs to build a model of that!
  4. But even if the actual stadium was empty, wouldn't the TV deal alone pretty much guarantee a profit?
  5. Sometimes you're the windshield... sometimes you're the bug...
  6. And I'm wondering why you put a hyphen between the words "hot" and "dogs"... Ah, the mysteries of life...
  7. While that's a nice story, it's by far the exception to the rule. For every guy who hits the jackpot like your friend did, there are a hundred that are still eating canned beans and day-old bread 10-15-20 years into it.
  8. Or why we drive on the parkway and park in the driveway? Sorry to bother you with such a minor triviality. Feel free to ignore this thread...
  9. So when the vast majority of tourists "go to Las Vegas" and presumably stay in a hotel on the strip... they actually aren't in Las Vegas! Hilarious! I do know that the "old" downtown area (the Fremont Street area with that cool light show thingie on the overhead canopy) is in Las Vegas. But how ironic that the most iconic tourist attractions in Las Vegas aren't in Las Vegas!
  10. BTW... is it true that the famed "Las Vegas Strip" with all those iconic hotels/casinos is actually not technically in Las Vegas at all? I remember reading that the "strip" is actually outside the city limits of Las Vegas.
  11. Thanks, Bill. Another one of life's little mysteries solved..
  12. Nice level of detail considering the small scale.
  13. Yes, I would think so.
  14. Interesting... but since the seal between cap and can isn't airtight, I don't see the need. And even more puzzling, only some cans have the hole, not all.
  15. But Columbus at least has a pro hockey team. LV has no pro teams at all! As far as gambling goes... yeah, that applies to the tourist trade. They go to Vegas to gamble, not watch sports. But if you actually live in Las Vegas, I'm sure the whole "strip" thing gets old soon. I'm pretty sure a city the size of Las Vegas, with a metro area population of a million people, could easily support a few pro sports teams. Seems odd to me that there are no pro teams in Las Vegas.
  16. But the fact is that only some cans have the hole... some don't. But obviously all spray cans are under pressure, so that doesn't explain it.
  17. Like I said, the snap-on cap's seal isn't airtight in the first place. Any pressure that needed to escape could easily escape where the cap meets the can. And besides, a properly manufactured spray can doesn't leak. I find it hard to believe that the little hole is a "safety valve" to let pressure escape. But hey, who knows? Maybe it actually is just that. But I need to hear it from someone who knows the real reason before I believe it.
  18. The only way pressure could build there is if there was a leak somewhere in the top of the can. And even then, the seal on the snap-on cap isn't airtight anyway, so that can't be the reason.
  19. Today is Sunday, which means I spent my afternoon watching the Bears lose (again!)... this time to Washington. Sheesh... But watching football got me wondering... how is it that Los Angeles, the second-largest city (and media market) in the entire country has no NFL team? Years ago the LA Rams moved to St. Louis when the St. Louis Cardinals moved to Phoenix... so in the "realignment" St. Louis got the Rams and Arizona got the Cardinals... but LA was left without a pro football team! A small city like Green Bay has a very successful pro team, but a huge megalopolis like LA doesn't? Huh? And on the same subject, how does a big city like Las Vegas have no pro sports teams at all? No baseball, football, basketball, or hockey? How is that possible? You would think the big brains running pro sports would be eager to tap the Las Vegas market.
  20. I actually noticed the little hole a long time ago, and now I always tilt the cap when I spray paint into it so that the hole is at the upper side of the cap and the paint collects on the lower side. But after all this time I still can't figure out why the hole is there in the first place.
  21. Yes, exactly! It's happened to me... so I got to wondering what the heck that little hole is there for anyway?
  22. So why do some (not all) brands/types of spray paints have a tiny pinhole on the top of the cap? What possible function does this tiny hole serve, especially since it's only on some cans of spray paint, but not all?
