  1. Don't know about the rest of you guys, but my Mac keyboard has a – key (F14) and a + key (F15) that controls the size of a website's text.
  2. Oops. My humblest apologies. Of course I meant "person oh person"... Dang! This brave new world of political correctness is gonna take some getting used to!
  3. The question wasn't about the first "ram air" setup, but the first functioning hood scoop. That is, a real scoop that was really open and really let in air, not just a bulge on the hood with a fake "grille" for looks only. The '53 Caribbean has a real, open hood scoop that was functional. How much it actually affected performance is debatable, but it did actually "work."
  4. Here in a nearby NW suburb of Chicago, the other day there was a story about how this "trans-gender" high school guy who "identifies" as female was causing all sorts of problems because he and his family (and their lawyer, no doubt) were demanding that he/she have access to the girl's locker room. The school's compromise idea was to put up a sort of "privacy curtain" in the girl's locker room for him, but apparently that wasn't good enough. Not sure exactly how the story ended (or if it's still being litigated), but man oh man, what kind of crazy society have we become lately where some teenage guy can claim he's a "she" and demand access to the girl's locker room... and the rest of us have to actually agree to that nonsense???!!! Sheesh...
  5. According to certain people, gender itself is no longer a valid concept. You are what you "identify" as, not what your plumbing tells you you are.
  6. You guys think you have it tough? Try being self-employed. Sure, theoretically I can charge whatever I want for a project, but when you're bidding on a project, guess who gets the job? There is always someone willing to take on the job for peanuts... even at a loss, just to get their foot in the door with the client. So when you're competing with low-ball job estimates, it's pretty hard to convince a potential client that you're worth a lot more than the Gen-Xer who is willing to work for $20 an hour...
  7. There were no highlights, only lowlights!
  8. Well, this game was crap for sure!
  9. Interesting, Thanks, Rob.
  10. Very nice work, Bruce! Very sharp and clean. Now put a license plate in that blank frame and you can call it finished.
  11. Stupid Bears lost to the 49ers. With TWO seconds left in regulation, all the Bears had to do was kick an easy 37 yard FG to win it. Just like an extra point. Simple. Heck, even I could kick a 37 yard FG. But Robbie Gould, who almost never misses, missed. To OT we go. And in OT, the 49ers QB, who I've never even heard of, throws a 75 yard TD pass. And with that loss, any chance of the Bears making the playoffs pretty much died. Sheesh...
  12. How is it that military kits got to be made in such an oddball scale (1/35)?
  13. With tall grass and buffalo? Or does he build planes?
  14. Love it! Your illustration, I assume?
  15. Take care of yourself first. Get back to the Rolls when you can. You can bet that we will all still be here whenever you return to the model. Hey... you've been putting some serious time into this thing for quite a long time now... think of this as a small, well-deserved vacation from model building. It'll all still be here when you get back to it.
  16. Here's the finished interior. Not much in there but the seat. I added the roof beams because the body was warped and the sides were bowed in... the wooden strips keep the body sides parallel and straight... The red of the interior is really getting blown out by the flash. In reality it's a very dark maroon. The actual color is more like the area in the above photo just above the seat's left side armrest
  17. I made paper templates for the interior panels, then cut the final panels out of heavy colored paper... Here are some of the panels glued in place... New seat base made of balsa scraps, and balsa floor installed...
  18. I started the coach interior by reworking the kit seat. First step was to remove the seat sides... I will reuse them, the rest of the seat goes in the trash... I found some appropriately garish, over-the-top velour fabric to match the garish, over-the-top look of this car. The new seat parts are just chunks of balsa with the corners/edges rounded over, then the fabric glued on with contact cement. You'll see the finished seat installed later.
  19. I don't remember a band called Elephant's Memory, but I do remember another one hit wonder by Crazy Elephant...
  20. Written by Tommy James (yes, that Tommy James... as in Tommy James and the Shondells)...
  21. As far as $$$ goes, believe me... he is doing just fine. And if he ever ran into financial difficulty, he could always ask his buddy Paul for a loan. I think Paul is doing ok, too!
  22. So why is Ringo having this upscale garage sale? Money trouble?
