  1. Oh, I see. So all of the magazines that wind up at the LHS do not go through the USPS system at all? Not even "part of the way?"
  2. Why are we talking about another online forum in a thread that was posted six years ago?
  3. Hey... no hurry! Right, Art? I bought my HSM kits in one single ebay spree several years ago, but for some reason I keep passing them over when it comes time for my next project. I really ought to try one. It would be a good test of my skills.
  4. Is it a show or a contest? If a show, take the ones you're most proud of. If a contest, take 'em all! The more entries, the more chances of winning!
  5. Congratulations on your win. But Second Place? Gee, I'd love to see the model that beat it!
  6. I have 5-6 Hudson Scale Miniatures kits. Never have gotten around to building one, though. Some day..
  7. Which makes the whole "torn up when it arrives" thing even more weird. I mean, the magazines that are delivered to your LHS also went through the same process as the ones that individual subscribers' magazines go through... right?
  8. At least you have the memory of the dinner... I always liked them, too. They did a lot of cool songs.
  9. In that ballpark. Hard to tell exactly until I build it. The kit is 1/16 scale, so it's pretty big. And incredibly complex and detailed... just the way I like my kits.
  10. New Yawk, eh? Hey, how you doooin?
  11. You need to tell us who makes the kit.
  12. That's why I love this place!
  13. Hey, if you want to sue for "mental anguish" or "emotional distress" or something, I will gladly represent you for half of the settlement. Call me... I work at the law firm of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.. 555-LAW-SCAM...
  14. Yes, exactly! Thanks, man...
  15. I just got the Bandai issue of the 1/16 scale 1919 Garrett steam tractor kit. Problem is, the instructions are completely in Japanese, including color callouts. I know this kit has been released under various brands over the years. Were there ever any English instructions included? Anyone by any chance have English instructions for this kit?
  16. Well, seeing as how the publisher of MCM is also a commercial printer, i doubt they'd want to outsource it.
  17. I guess you were reading words that I didn't write. I didn't question your intelligence. I asked if you realize what a bagging machine costs. I'm sure any publisher that bags their magazine passes that cost on to the subscriber. Maybe the MCM publisher doesn't want to do that.
  18. Do you have any idea what a magazine bagging machine costs?
  19. One of the three lead singers (and a founding member) of Three Dog Night passed away "unexpectedly" yesterday at 74. Well, yeah, dead at 74 seems a little unexpected, especially if he had no known physical problems. Oh well... such is life...
  20. Nice progress on this. Good to hear you're feeling better. Being sick sucks.
  21. Is there anything a smart phone can't do?
  22. Yeah, I know that stuff. I figured you used either that or Elmer's. Thanks, John... just wanted everyone else who might be wondering to know "how it's done"...
  23. In fact, this is so amazing that when I saw it, I asked Dann if I could do a feature of this model in the magazine... and he said yes. So be prepared to go on a little "magical mystery tour" of this model's graphics in an upcoming issue and get to check out all of those cool details up close.
  24. You'd be better off storing them in the basement. Not as extreme of a hot/cold temp range.
