  1. Great looking color. Like the wheels and tires.
  2. Like the stock look. I used to do the service work on a Rebel model during the late '60's. The owner had ordered it with a 290 V8 and a 4-speed. A lot faster than you would think and road manners to match. Resist the urge to put a vinyl roof on this and make it a solid color. His was sort of a dark turquoise. Maybe Google the 1:1 and look at what the color pallet offered at that time.
  3. Great color combination and finish. Like the detailed engine and chassis.
  4. Thanks for the info. In the past I have used Purple Power, but that doesn't seem to be working. I have an old can of the Oven Off but that seems to only dull the color finish. I'm going to give it another 24 hrs. in the Purple Power pond and see. Like how you did the floor pan and the frame looks good.
  5. That new of a car could be Googled. There should be pictures, hopefully of original engines, that would give you an idea of the shade of blue you need.
  6. Like seeing the effort that Round 2 is putting into these kits instead of a straight release of the old kits. Their new Dodge Charger is on a level with a Moebus kit.
  7. Beautiful looking finishes, well worth the effort. Looks better than the drawing on the kit box.
  8. Like the old school look. Great paint and well detailed engine.
  9. Great, clean looking build and the Tiki Hut as well.
  10. Another consideration would be Tamiya TS-93 Pure Blue. This color is slightly lighter than the TS-15 Blue and is also a non- metallic color. Depending on how stock you are trying to be remember that like many manufacturers the color can be slightly different from one year to the next and even from one plant to another.
  11. As Dave has pointed out there can be big differences between driving habits from one region to another. Living just west of Kansas City and very near the Mo. border, I'm not picking on Mo. drivers per say, this is also a central location with a lot of through traffic from many other nearby states not to mention a lot of 18-wheeler traffic from everywhere you can think of. One thing that I use as a warning is that Kansas uses a two-letter tag on the license's plates along with the yearly renewal. There are curtain driver characteristics not to mention very bad driving habits that are often typical of drivers from some of the counties around the KC Metro area. This does often give you an idea of what the other driver may or may not due when driving.
  12. Good morning Dennis. I have a couple of questions on your build. #1 What did you use to strip the old paint. I have failed to practice what I have preached about the use of paint not designed for our plastic models. #2 The suggestion to use the bed floor of the 1950 Ford truck model. I think that the '60 Ford F100 with the fleet side bed had a steel floor and only the step side bed had the wood floor. I do realize that in the automotive world there seems to be an exceptions to every rules. Going to a step side bed might be an idea though.
  13. You have to drive very defensively for any hope of getting anywhere in one piece unscathed. I try and anticipate what the guy in front of me is going to do by watching the cars ahead of him. Had an experience with a dumb you know what yesterday on the freeway. I try and use the cruise control, if possible, there are very few people that can maintain a steady speed on their own. I'm over taking a guy in the center lane of the three-lane freeway. As I get close, and not tailgating. That's dangerous and rude. I move to the left lane to glide by him. As I get close to his rear quarter he speeds up, then slows down to where he is sitting just off of my right rear quarter panel, also known as you "Blind Spot" unless you have a fisheye mirror. He is now going almost ten MPR faster than when I was overtaking him, and he's been riding there for more than a few miles. My off ramp is coming up and I need to get over to safely exit. I turn off the cruise and drop my speed and move over behind him for about a mile when he suddenly decides he's in a hurry and takes off going least 75+ MPH. Begs the question: Why is this other driver not wanting to be passed if he isn't going anywhere close to the speed limit in the first place? He's going between 60 and 65 in a 70 MPH zone. He's in the proper lane I guess since he's not sitting in the fast lane like so many other drivers do. But when I move over to pass him, he has to start pacing me and speeding up, so I don't pass him.
  14. Good looking paint finish and the two figures really look like Laurel and Hardy. The things they did to Model Ts back in the silent movies were amazing to watch.
  15. Great looking Fat Fender Ford. Like the nosed and decked treatment and the 289 would have made this a good performing car as well. Your model's trim is all cleanly done and the wheels look good.
  16. Just a thought on the wheels. You mentioned that you preferred the kits tires. Would the wheel backs from the kit fit inside the chrome wheels? My thought is that the back edge of the chrome wheels could be sawed off and the kits inner wheel could be used on the back side. This should make the mounting on the axels easer as well as mounting the kits tires. The other part would be the offset of the wheel should keep your tire inside the wheel wells and prevent any tire/body rubbing.
  17. Beautiful looking finishes and cleanly detailed sand rail.
  18. Great looking paint and like the service truck theme. Lots of options for the bed on this. The exhaust stacks are a nice option and remember when they were sort of a standard thing when you were fixing up a pickup.
  19. Your efforts were well worth it. This color always looked good on this body style anyway, and with the polished finish it really shines.
  20. Great OEM look. Great color and finish and the interior looks real nice. These were nice looking Ford products at the time.
  21. Beautiful looking paint work and color. Like the chrome trim and the rear deck area.
  22. Very realistic looking painting details on the engine and interior.
  23. For the wheels, can you drill the wheel backs mounting hole larger to fit the kits axles or are the wheel backs mountings to long? I also had a '66 Impala SS with the 396 and 4-speed. Always liked the lines of this and the '65 as well.
  24. Great looking paint work. I like the way you did the hood and the upper grill surround. What are you thinking for the grill itself?
  25. Great stans and I like the weathered paint finish. Lot of attention to the smallest details on this build.
