  1. Even with the chopped top the body proportions all look perfect. Great color and paint. Very cleanly detailed engine.
  2. Great looking paint job on build #1.
  3. Nice to see a fully dressed Flathead and I like your interior treatment.
  4. If you can't get the tail light you need think about using the clear red spruce from another kit. Sometimes there will be a flat section on the spruce that could be shaped to what you need here.
  5. In the past I've turned my nose up on this kit, but looking at this I'm thinking of trying to find one.
  6. Went to the local market yesterday to get a couple of things we needed. No paper products but a few wipes with a limit of one per customer, the rest of the isle was empty. They did have eggs this time and again a limit of 1. I got the other items I needed. The checkout only has plastic bags now. I usually would have our cloth bags but they don't allow them at this time. The checkers are supposed to wear gloves, but they're not. The so called rules of social conduct for the time seem very hit and miss if at all.
  7. Aluminum siding you say. Where is a good lighting and thunder storm when you need one. This sounds like someone with real security issues.
  8. Looks great. Very cleanly trimmed .
  9. That's what I'm saying. They are short but sweet. I can remember wading in the lake putting in the piers the last part of June and there was ice around the shore line. The first part of August wasn't much better when we had to pull the pier out for the season. Either way you would be lucky to not chip any teeth you would be chattering so bad.
  10. The next time your new neighbor waves and says hi why not say hello, introduce yourself, find out a little about the new comer, then ask him what he has planned for the yard. Just a thought, if he cut down some really big trees with the idea of a pool, wait till he finds out how expensive it'll be to remove the stumps and all of the roots.
  11. This should be a fun build. The roof ideas sound interesting.
  12. We used to have a saying about Wisconsin. They would have summer one afternoon in July. In reality these were very enjoyable summers but all to short. Great weather and great people.
  13. I like that they're offering the extra wheels and tires plus the interior options on the '62 Impala. This is just like the old days when they would put everything in the box. Just think of the mix and match possibilities.
  14. Great looking build. I like the paint work especially. Very nice "Cruiser Skirts" .
  15. great looking collection. Good idea to keep them covered and protected.
  16. Looks very correct to me, and just as I remember seeing them in my rear view mirror.
  17. Just how far north are you ? I spent a couple of summers in Woodruff and Sayner many many years ago.
  18. As mentioned by so many others here, the Hub Cap or the lack of them was probably the least expensive and quickest way to change a cars appearance. The painted open wheel with no hub caps were sort of the Drag look. The Baby Moons were popular since it gave a little different appearance at minimal cost. The Cruiser Look would usually go with a Dodge Royal Lancer or '55 OLds Fiestas. The '56 Fiestas were probably the most desirable. The Buick full wheel covers looked good and with the optional single bar "Flipper" they would catch your eye when moving. That was sort of what it was all about anyway. In 1955 Vic Edelbrock Sr. bought one of the first '55 models in late '54. He was one of the fist to offer intake manifolds and cams based off of that car. Since your guy has a bottomless wallet maybe he dropped his new '55 Chevy off at Vic's shop in Southern California and left a blank check on the front seat. Put a set of 8.20x15's on the rear and run the torch lightly over the front coil springs and tell him to empty his catalog of parts in the engine. Paint it a high gloss Black with a little pin striping after it was "Nosed & Decked"
  19. I now have cabin envy not to mention the sweet little '57 Bel Air.
  20. As I mentioned before, this is the cleansing of the gene pool at work.
  21. That's just the cleansing of the gene pool there. You can't fix stupid, but sometimes stupid can fix it's self.
  22. That would be another good idea when trying to make a model as realistic as possible, in fact I'm going to try and remember that idea.
  23. I guess so. I don't think I ever saw that one.
