That just looks right. You have the stance and I like the steels wheels and slicks.

'59 Chevy Impala Covertible
espo replied to r60man's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The seat inserts on most '59 Impalas were cloth. The rest of the interior was done in vinyl. Most of the reproduction interiors offered today can be had with either the cloth inserts or in all vinyl with the cloth pattern imprinted on the vinyl. -
I'll bet it costs less than a Ferrari.

This sure looks like the car on their album cover. Beautifully built.

Does anyone make a Coyote Engine?
espo replied to BDSchindler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Check out JPSCUSTOMSMCTWHEELS.bigcartel.com. I bought one of his LT1 6.2 liter engines at the Hartland Nationals and had looked at some of his others including a Ford Coyote. The detail is outstanding and it includes the Transmission and rubber band front drive on the engine. -
Poor Wiley Coyote never got any respect.

I love the old Road Runner Cartoons. The poor Coyote always would lose in the end, but they were always funny to watch.

Think of it as a chance to upgrade. Look around at all of your options, and don't forget to let Tinylimp know why you will no longer be needing their services.

If you get a chance check out Pikes Market. There is a little coffee shop across the street with a half wall in front. You can sit on a stool and enjoy your coffee and people watch. Great area to take a ferry boat ride. The main hub is behind the market and there is a walkway under the freeway to get to it.

Happy Birthday. You just have to remember being over 50 is better than the alternatives. The light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train.

Why isn't there anymore 2d SUV
espo replied to youpey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think simply put, 4-doors out sell 2-doors. Even the Wrangler 2 door is getting hard to find and my fear is the they will drop it in the near future. When the Wrangler started to offer an Unlimited 4-door model they have had a license to print money ever since. The new pick up is even a 4-door. This killed my idea of getting one. A majority of the vehicles billing them selves as Sport Utility Vehicles see little or no off road use. While this may or may not be true with the Wranglers. We attend a Jeep Jamboree or two every year and try to do a day trip to the very few off road parks in our area during the summer months. The biggest number of new or newer Wranglers we see Wheel'n are the unlimited. I see the practicality of the 4-door if you have a family and it can still be used as a day to day driver, so I get it. We're trying to time the replacement for our JK with the last 2-door Wrangler for our final Wrangler. -
Great looking "Yard Art" if you really want to mess with your neighbors.

What did you see on the road today?
espo replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Based on the presents of the vent windows I'd say it's a '67 year model. You could also check the VIN # to tell for sure. -
1975 Datsun Pickup (1/25)

I like this idea for the engine. -
Great looking Volvo. I enjoyed watching your build on this. The little body repairs are invisible with the beautiful paint work. So what will McNally do next ?

Looks Plumb Crazy to me. I like the engine upgrade. As you can tell I also like the color.

Many valid questions and also a few answers as well. While the blame seems to fall on "AMT" for these problems, maybe these questions should be put too Round 2 since they are doing the reissue of these models. I'm happy that they are doing the reissue's as many of these kits are ones that I enjoy and from my prospective the improvements made by Round 2 have been done in a positive manor. I don't care about the whole Coke thing, but I'm only one person. I would think that Round 2 would rather hear from any builders about what it is that upsets them about their product. Give them a chance to explain the whys and wherefores as to what they have done. Then you will have a better understanding of why something was done.

Another thought on the body. Star models offers a pretty good looking '56 Ford sedan body as does Hendrix casting. Check under After market/ Resin section on the forum. On the first page there is a Directory section that will take you to many casters sites and you can even view their castings there.

Bucket seat identification needed
espo replied to Lordmodelbuilder's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The hash mark on the upper seat back makes me think of a Ford product, but then again it could be most anything, but I would rule out a Mopar interior just because of the shape. -
part 2 How to fix clear coat issue
espo replied to DDD's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sometimes, not always, but sometimes it's just better to drop it in the purple pond and start over. Use the lessons learned here and start fresh on the paint. -
I agree with Mark, this is the kit I would start with since it has the general shape with the roof being the exception. You might post your need on the forum in the section set aside for just that reason. You might be able to trade something you already have for this kit. While this is a great kit in it's own right it has been reissued over and over and can be found at a reasonable price. The pillared two door sedan roof would be your only challenge and you may even build it as a hardtop.

Very nice looking build.

Great looking Olds. More strip than street looking. Very nice paint.

Great idea on the paint work. This looks just like a Candy Apple Red paint job that has sat out in the sun for a couple of years.
