  1. The reissue of the '77 Pinto holds zero interest to myself. On the other hand the AMT '75 Pinto or the MPC '76 Pinto would be a must have. I do remember seeing a few of these Pintos from that era running around with small block Ford V8's and they were very fast little street cars. That is the way I'd build one if ever we get to see it again. I was able to pick up the Porsche Tractor yesterday. This looks like it could be a fun fast build.
  2. I really like your color for the body and the interior. Did you glue the trunk lid shut or does it open ? I fought that with the one I built a couple of years ago. Looking at this I have to build another more along your build theme.
  3. I like how you built this kit. Makes you wonder if O'l Shel was still around what would he do ?

    Porsche 911 Turbo

The finish on this is outstanding.
  5. I think you may have a bunch of watchers on this build.
  6. Very nice paint detailing. Amazing what a little dab of paint here and there will do to bring out the fine details.
  7. I picked up the Revell Porsche Farm Tractor at Hobby Lobby yesterday. It's kind of a simple basic kit but looks like it will build out very nicely.
  8. The good news is that many of the Roadsters and other customs can be done using many of the kits on the market today with just a little modification, we are modelers after all. I have seen some of the concoctions that others here on the Forum have created and the Manatray should be a walk in the park for some of them.
  9. Humans, and this is a very lose term, are they only animal on earth that will foul their own nests. These same people are the type that complain that no business's will open in their neighborhood. The shoplifting and robberies are so bad that a business can't afford to operate and turn a profit. They will often argue with one another as to what time of day it is and start shooting. It has become un PC to hold anyone responsible for their actions and everyone is a victim.
  10. Many great suggestions on the interior detailing. If I can offer a couple of alternatives. The Tamiya Panel Line accent color is also available in Gray and might work a little better and not stand out as much as the black. I have also used The Detailer products and they are also offered in several colors and like the Tamiya products they can also be used on exterior door opening lines. Your question about painting a white plastic model white. For myself the biggest problem I have had was to do with any mold lines and other imperfections on the body. I will first sand any obvious lines before using a light coat of gray primer. With the gray primer any other imperfections will show up with a very light sanding. This will also let you see if the door panel edges and the main body has any problems. After you have the body done the way you want it then spray it with Tamiya White Primer. Again light sanding and I usually use a 2400 sanding pad or higher. Since you're using only light coats don't worry about the different shades of primer showing after a light sanding as at this point you're making the surface level so that there will be no runs after the next and final White Primer coat. At this point any surface that doesn't look 100 % should be corrected, or move on to your first color coat of the Body color. I will usually use two light color coats and let it sit over night. I'll give it one final "color sanding" under a bright light looking for any imperfections, dust or lint in the paint. Then one last color coat and let dry. I always inspect the paint work again under a very bright light to make sure it's finished the way I want it. Then I'll Clear coat the model again with two light coats. After a 24 to 48 hour drying time you can move on to polishing. This may seem like a lot of paint, but you're only using light coats and sanding much of it away in between coats.
  11. Very nice conversion. Either grill would look good, it would depend on what you like. I'm the type that would use the '55 grill since that's the hood you're using. I like the look of the '57 grill better, but again there is the hood thing. Do what ever looks good to you. I like how you have blended the two bodies together to make it look factory. The rear duallies look great.
  12. The Pinto would be more desirable if it were a couple of model years earlier before Ford had to put that ugly grill to blend in the 10 mph Bumper. I know a lot of guys have wondered if they would bring back the "55 Bel Air Convertible so that should do well. Kit reissues are almost an after thought since his main focus seems to be on the small Die Cast. stuff. Some due look interesting, but I well not be spending any of my allowance money on them.
  13. Excellent paint work, and the wheels and red lines look period perfect.
  14. Beautiful looking paint work. I along with many others followed your build. Fascinating to watch all of the intricate masking that went into this paint work.
  15. I had something like that done last year. The nail on the big toe was curling under on one side. The doctor cut about a third of it off down to the quick and then removed the nail where it would start twisting. I'm glad she used a good local on it because I didn't feel a thing. Had to soak my foot in Epsen Salts for a few weeks and then the toe grew to meet the nail.
  16. Great looking Custom Lambo. The roof rack is a little tong in cheek. I really like your seat inserts.
  17. Great looking Long Roof. One of my favorite colors and a nice finish. What all did you do with the interior ? The front buckets look like the Mustang's and rears might have been made from the back seat. The seat patterns look like something you might have created.
  18. I like your trailer idea. I also remember seeing this type of trailer advertised years ago. They were designed for a small compact car to tow and look like they would be very maneuverable. I would think that a VW would suffer early clutch failure in this type of usage.
  19. Stopped to get some spray paint at my go to Hobby Shop today. They had the Round 2 AMT '55 Chevy reissue on the counter. This maybe old news but I hadn't seen one till now. Looking at the box they show some interesting new decals with two different sets of flams.
  20. Looks great. I like the paint and the color combination with the wheels and the body. If I owned a 1:1 Sedan Delivery it would look much like this, I like this style.
  21. If this guy turns up the Base I'll bet it could disrupt your heart beat.
  22. Good to hear that they are receptive to some new subjects, and maybe expand on some of what we already have. Pure speculation, but you have to wonder if a '57 Ranchero or Currier Delivery is possible. There is always a chance that they could do the same with the tri-five Chevys. The Pontiac and Oldsmobile's have been under served from the mid '50's thru the '60's. Just my hopes and dreams but I'm sure others have their own wish lists.

    Dart GT

Very nice clean looking build. I like the more conservative color combination with the tail stripe just a few shades off of the body color.
  24. You're doing an amazing job with your build. I admire your striving for accuracy on this.
  25. Your drawing looks like 1964 style.
