I like the clean appearance of the body and paint. The induction parts for the engine are a great idea and I'm going to steal that for a future build. This would make a really cool daily driver.

The paint and the color are outstanding. I like how you converted it to a hardtop doing away with the post. The chassis is just as impressive. You should get one of those little display stands that has a mirror at an angle that would show the chassis without having to pickup the model.

I think the paint looks great. u should be pleased with that finish. Like you, I painted a '50 Olds this same color and I think it is timeless on any of the '50's and '60's cars.

I like the paint treatment.

Looks great so far. Nice wood trim for the interior. The body color should make it stand out also.

I have the same spray booth. I bought it a few years ago and have enjoyed it well. The exact filters are hard to find and can be expensive. What I have done for this problem is to use a universal trim to fit filter material from Home Depot. They have several types of filter material and the latest that I'm now using is designed for "room air conditioners" the type you see mounted in a window. This particular product is about 2mm thick made up of three layers of foam material. The filter is 15" x 24" and is easily cut to size with a card board cutter type knife. I also picked up a length of Dryer exhaust hose to use to vent the fumes outside. Mine is a very low tech setup. I have an area in the basement where I store all of the yard equipment and mowers. Mine is mounted on a shelf near the outside door and I just open the door when painting and stick the exhaust hose out the door when in use. Not the most ideal but it has served me well for years. Enjoy your spray booth it will go a long way on improving paint work.

Very nice clean looking build. I can see you did a lot of paint detailing on the chassis and suspension. The Pearl White color always looks better in person than in photos, it just doesn't seem to show the same shine in photos. I agree with '70 Grande about the white color giving it a more elegant look.

The pick-up looks like a '32 thru'34 year model. I had one in the mid '60's with a warmed over Flathead and 15" wheels from a later Ford pick up. They had the 5 on 5 bolt pattern. The wire wheels make me think it maybe a '32 but these things got changed around so much and you just ran what ever you could get your hands on.

Very nice looking so far. I like your two tone treatment. -
You have some serious looking tires going on. I like the thrown together look. Nice tube chassis showing. The blown Corvair engine is a unique idea and why not.

Very nice clean looking build. I just picked up one of these and have it in the Q for next month to build.

Great looking. Your vinyl roof looks perfect. The colors all go together well and I like the bare Rally wheels. Very nice personalized license plate.

Great looking "Surf Wagon". Very clean looking build and a perfect color combination.

Very interesting vehicle. I could be wrong but it makes me think it has a commercial vehicle back ground, maybe a pickup or delivery van, not many rear leaf springs, It may have been based on a large passenger car though. One of the reasons has to do with the wheels. They look to be a 6 lug design and the solid steel centers. The distributor looks like it could be for a 6 cylinder engine which would move it out of the early Ford idea. A better view of the Radiator Shell might give a clue but with all the other changes to the body who's to say that hasn't been changed also. The bed looks to be a home made affair along with the passenger seat. The seat does look like it would be comfortable though. My thought is that if this was constructed just before the War it may be based on a late '20's or '30's chassis. The reason I say this is you have to remember the state of the American economy between the "roaring '20's" and the start of WW 2. It was not uncommon for someone to purchase a large luxury car for next to nothing, since the owner had lost almost everything they owned, and strip the body off and make a very powerful truck out of it. This often happened to Cadillacs, Hudsons, Chryslers and others. The pest part is you have a real interesting picture of your father and shows him as a young man, and he looks very serious in the picture. You didn't mention the lady in the picture ?

I added the body side trim to a Suburban I built last year. I used Platruct #90881 1.5 mm half round for the moldings. The size I used was based purely on "eye ball" and not knowing the exact size of the moldings. The lower of the two moldings seems to start directly in line with the vent window post and drops at a gentle 90 degree turn to run parallel to the upper molding. I used a strip of 6mm masking tape as a spacer between the moldings. The next time I do this I'm going to use a narrower tape since it looks just ever so much like they are to far apart. Most my not notice and no one who has seen the build has made a comment about it except that they liked the treatment. When I look at the body they moldings just seem a fraction off. I would suggest doing a lot of mockups before committing to gluing any moldings just to be sure.

Great looking build. Outstanding attention to detail, and thankyou for the list of parts used. I'll have to remember some of them for future builds of my own.

That is probably what the manufacture was hoping potential buyers would think. -
The beauty of the AMT '39/'40 Ford tudoor is that it can be built either way. I personally always liked this and the '40 coupe that preceded it. When they were first released they were really a big deal. They and the '40 Ford Panel that came later are a great basis for many different types of builds.

7 Muscle Cars I Hope Will Be Kitted Soon

The Montego in "Arrest me red" looks great. I recall a NASCAR Montego kit a few years a ago. If you could find one I think it would give you a good base to work from. -

Neat looking van. I would expect an 8 track tape deck. The Reel to Reel Tape Deck might have been beyond their financial abilities. I like how you did all the posters, great idea. -

Looks clean, and very basic. Never seen one before. What is it I'm looking at and how old is it ?
