  1. Now that would just be cool in my driveway. So many great looking cars. That little black Valiant could be the best sleeper ever with some steelies on it.
  2. That's the way I remember most of these. I like this look better than the later models.
  3. Sounds like a good way to either: Set fire to your model, or heat the body until it starts to warp. The safer way my be to use a Food Drier.
  4. That almost looks like the difference between a 1/24th and a 1/25th scale part.
  5. I love your "Dull Spoon" reference as that was a favorite of my mother's. She would describe removal of curtain body parts with the same tool. Like you I have had a few friends who have been in various law enforcement departments. Some of the stories that never make the news are amazing in so many ways. Many of the things they have to deal with no one should have too. Thank heavens there're people who do things for the general public that they couldn't begin to get their heads around.
  6. Beautiful looking build. Outstanding paint work and the level of detail is amazing.
  7. It must be because of the mini bike.
  8. Great looking travels. I like seeing the variety of Post Offices.
  9. A few layers of clear and call it done.
  10. Man I'm sorry to hear that. Nothing makes your day like messing up a fresh paint job.
  11. I have used several different decals from them for interiors and they always lay down perfectly. The interior decals are very thin and extreme care when handling is a must but the results is worth a little extra effort.
  12. Sorry to hear that, but that is what I thought.
  13. The Willys Gasser will be nice to have again. Not as good as the Revell offerings but there're many of years apart when it comes to the time they were developed. The Lift looks interesting to me. I have to wonder just how many COPO Chevelle's were ordered with a vinyl roof ?
  14. A lot of work went into this build. Turned out beautifully.
  15. I like how you did the paint treatment. All of the other body and trim modifications work well together.
  16. The hood looks perfect. I like the "post" body style.
  17. Looks like the frame is going to be a great feature of your build. I agree with misterNNL on the additional frame work. This will also make the frame seem wider also.
  18. The colors and the stripes look great. My personal all time favorite is the Go Mango orange.
  19. That looks great. If someone is looking for an unusual color just visit the Nail Polish isle.
  20. Is this part of your initial cleaning of a new model, or was there perhaps a painting problem??
  21. A little known fact about the Aztek , or maybe everyone knows by now. I worked in a Pontiac dealership when this monstrosity was unleashed on the general public. I had asked the Zone Rep. from Pontiac "what were they thinking". His story line was that it was a committee design. Pontiac Division had work shops with non GM employees asking what they were looking for in a new car. AS it turned out a majority of the people in the work shops were very early twenties since that was their target buyers. The problem is by the time they put it all together and brought it to market it cost to much for the target buyers and it was during the plastic cladding era at GM and so it looked the way it looked because no one had a clear vision of what it should be. I was quoted as saying "that if he had a dog that looked like that he would shave his bottom and teach him to walk backwards". The Zone Drone was not impressed.
  22. Some GM cars I think may do well: '55 to '57 Oldsmobile, '57 Pontiac Safari or Hard Top. '57 Buick Hard Top with the 3 piece rear window and a '54 thru '66 Cadillac Coupe DE Ville.
  23. Find a hobby shop that carries Plastruct products. They offer many different pattern sheets of plastic.
  24. My Grandparents had the same coffee maker. I'd check around old Antique and Consignment places.
  25. A friend of mine bought a new '63 Corvette. I got to drive it for a very short time one evening. That big obstruction in the middle of the rear window was bad. I'm 6'2'', I may have been 6'3' back then. You really don't have a real good field of vision out of the rear window on the C3 fastback anyway and while I like the looks of the split window I can see why owners of the '63's were chopping the post out of these cars.
