  1. Great collection of vintage models ! Your photos are definitely worth saving for future reference .
  2. That's really sharp Jim ! Those redlines really compliment the color .
  3. Beautiful conversion Steve ! It's obvious that you put in the extra effort to get it "right" instead of just cobbling something together . It makes a big difference in the end result . Very nice work !
  4. That's purty , and it's the perfect color ! Beautiful model !
  5. One of my favorites of yours , great to see it posted here ! And welcome to the other side BTD !
  6. BINGO ! Good old cigarette lighter fluid DOES work , I've used both Ronson and Zippo brands .
  7. After detailing my tires I always spray them with DullCote to give them a nice satin finish . It dries quickly and doesn't seem to rub off , so I bet you could spray another color on top of it ! I've never done this but it might be worth a try on an old tire to see if it works .
  8. Excellent ! The overall look , the paint , the engine , the wheels and tires . . . you nailed it ! It definitely belongs on a shelf or in a display cabinet !
  9. Way too much there to even begin commenting on . . . excellent work on everything !

  11. Turned out great Niko ! And how about the first time you hit the highbeams at night and that bright red Bowtie lights up !
  12. The Model Encyclopedia has a pretty extensive list of all models produced . Go to this link : http://www.modelencyclopedia.com/SearchItem.php Choose the company from the drop down menu , and then click Search .
  13. Excellent version of the Deal's Wheels Van , it definitely deserved to win ! Congrats Pat !
  14. Check out the winning models ! http://car-toons.proboards.com/thread/771/winners

    WOW !
  17. I was thinking the same thing about those colors being available in '67 . I'll throw another wrench into the mess . . . there were two cars painted two very different colors ! The first Mr . Unswitchable has a 113" wheelbase and was painted a more reddish color , so Italian Red Would be a good choice . It was wrecked early in the season and Jesse rebuilt it with a 120" wheelbase and it was painted the more orangish red which looks closer to Hugger Orange . Unfortunately there is no known documentation to confirm the paint colors .
  18. I'm not sure about how detailed the engine will be , there's still a lot of other work that needs to be done . I've exchanged emails with a person more knowledgable than me about the history of Mr . Unswitchable and he's convinced me that the original color was probably Carousel Red , which is suppossedly the same as Hugger Orange . I'm not sure it was available in '67 but it looks really close so I've picked up some Model Master Hugger Orange and will give it a try !
  19. Unusual is very good ! Great looking Olds Tom , maybe you can post a few more pics ?
  20. Oh yeah ! I've got a couple period correct driver figures , one in a driver's suit and the other is just a T-shirt and a helmet !
  21. That's some impressive work , all that tubing looks like it came out of the box like that ! I'm definitely going to school here !
  22. While waiting on a parts order I decided to set the chassis aside so I've been doing body work all week . It's getting pretty close so I thought I'd set it up and see how it looks . . . . . . and I think I've found the wheels and tires I'll be using .
  23. Thanks Gene and Niko !
  24. Very nice work , your chassis looks great !
