  1. That's a pretty car , nice work Curt !
  2. Excellent ! It looks great in black and the wheels and tires were the perfect choice for it !
  3. Very cool Joe ! It's easy to tell that you had fun building this by all of the custom touches you added to it . They all look great ! ( I think the Muppets character was Dr. Teeth )
  4. Beautiful work Jim , I really like the look !
  5. Wow that's RED ! I love it !
  6. I just spent an hour going thru your entire thread and it's a great looking build ! I've never really built any type of Funny Car since I was a kid in the 60's so I'm trying to learn everything I can about building one . Yours is a great example !
  7. Thanks Carl and Bob !
  8. Thanks Joe ! You gotta remember that back in '67 most of us weren't so picky . I was 12 years old in '67 and built the MPC kit and I loved it !
  9. Great looking '65 , and it's my favorite color !
  10. A little progress made on the frame . Fabbed the front crossmember and shock towers , and added mounts for the twin I-beams and the radius rods . In the back I made the coil spring/airbag and upper arm mounts . Maybe I can get some more done this weekend ! I thought it would be fun to compare the different bodies so I took these photos . On the top is a stock MPC body . In the middle is the MPC Mr . Unswitchable . On the bottom is a body modified as described in the Car Craft article . One other difference is that the MPC kit is a '67 GTO and Mr . Unswitchable was actually a '66 GTO !
  11. Beautiful Camaros ! A group picture would be suitable for framing . And all in six months ? It would've taken me that long to build one !
  12. Voting began today to determine the winners ! Go to the following link to see all of the entries ! http://car-toons.proboards.com/thread/757/stock-open-voting
  13. No . Jesse built the car in 1966 for the '67 season but it was obsolete before the season started because of a rules change and it was only entered in Match races and Exhibition races . The factory backed '66 Mercury Cyclones built by Logghe Engineering were the template for the new rules package .
  14. Thanks Bob ad Stephen ! Here are a few of the photos I've found , there's still a lot of guess work involved .
  15. Excellent , that should get across Alligator Alley in a hurry !
  16. Cool ! For a kit that everybody got so excited about being reissued we sure don't see many being built .
  17. I've made some progress on the frame . The engine/trans is the 421SD from the AMT 62 Catalina . Suspension mounts are next then it's back to doing some body work !
  18. I sat down and spent the day working on the frame . It still needs a couple of crossmembers added , then I can start building the roll cage . It was fun drilling all of those holes !
  19. Great idea and great execution , it looks great ! And I'm kind of surprised that I really like the wheels !
  20. Absolutely nothing wrong with that , it's beautiful ! Where did you find the deep wheels ?
  21. Thanks much Al ! Thank you Rich , actually I finished this one almost two years ago ! Take a look here : http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75334
  22. Great looking truck Jim , I too like the shortened look ! Beautiful work !
  23. Now that's a sharp looking little car . . . model ! Thanks for posting it Harry , I think I can fit one on my shelf !
