Terry, your lego build, Nancy, looks exactly like what I have visioned for my build. Except I have a lot of ideas to add to it. Man, you even have the winch in the front and everything. Once I finish it, I am considering that my base model and building around it to make it much more dangerous and awesome.
-
Wow, everyone's stuff is really coming along and looking great. I have been a little busy lately and didn't post the list this weekend. There wasn't much changed anyway. I have gotten some progress done on Ice Breaker though. The full album of all 42 pics that I have of it can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/zYzAE. Below are a few of the most recent. I need to finish painting the truck bed, and then I think I will move onto the M55 and finish that before I attach the bed to the truck permanently.
-
i'm not involved in this...
Thus the '?' by your name. Thank you for letting me know. You have been removed from the list. Although I have a similar process and thinking to Ken's. You're now involved! You may not be building, but you're enjoying. And that is always a good thing. There is still plenty of time left. If you decide that you do want to build, just let me know and I will add you back on.

ose with question marks next to your names, you have posted to this thread but have not made it clear if you ar joining or not. I have only posted select pieces of what people have said they will work on when they started or have let me know after I made this list, and have not really gone through and updated what you guys are actually working on. I counted 123, including the names with question marks.
If you guys email me what your building and the name of it, I will keep an updated list of who is working on what that I can post each week or two. Email me your name as it appears in my list or if you are not on the list and want to be (and if you are on the list and aren't participating), let me know at Uberdeath322@gmail.com (this is not the Doc's email). Any other info you want included in the list, let me know.

Here are some photos of my project Viper for this build. Just a little back story to set the tone. A simple average man watches as his family first contracts an unknown disease, succombs to this and dies. Then endures the horror of watching them turn and ultimately having to kill them. He has become empty, dark inside. He has but one goal, kill every last zombie he encounters and ultimately find the persons responsible for creating this horrible virus and......KILL THEM
Well heres project viper. Base kit is Revells Viper SRT10. Ive removed the trunk lid, windshield frame and cowl. I then covered the passenger area and cowl area with one section of 1 mm thick styrene. The forward portion of the trunk area is the same. The drivers comparment was created out of 2 mm square stock then covered in 1 mm styrene. The turret is a 1/35 scale item left over from an M60 tank, as are the drive unit on the passenger door, power unit in the trunk. The gas tank is made from two M113 gas tanks. Im not sure of what gun I will mount yet. Thinking of a triple barrel gatling gun. Everything is simply mocked up for now. So here are the photos.
Looks great! Can we get a top view? I am curious how the sizes of the extra styrene compare with your corvette. I will be needing to buy some myself soon and want to have a better visual comparison of the sizes. Thanks.

So, I was thinking.
Just out of randomness, and the fact that it would coincide with my career-
Instead of a pest control truck or van, I could make a zombie control truck or van. Same basic concept of pest control, but with bullets and flamethrowers rather than bait and insecticide....
...I thought it was funny.
I like it. I picture a van with equipment in the back. Sorta like a S.W.A.T. truck, but with more zombie effective weaponry.

Soldier 1: "IT WORKS!"
Soldier 2: *glare*

Wayne, what a photo! Steve, are you sure you're going to be able to carry all of that? Don't forget the ammo needed for all those guns. The weight adds up really quickly. I would prefer something like this: http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/detail.asp?smallarms_id=262

The cooling fan on VW is driven by the fanbelt which turns the gen/alt. The cooling fan is mounted opposite of the pully on the back of the gen/alt. (except on Type 3 & 4, those are driven off the crankshaft) An intake scoop cannot make it spin faster to cool more, the mechanically driven fan will always spin in relation to the speed of the engine. It would, be a source of clean air, but the intake is usually directly behind the body in a low pressure area, which should be plenty clean in the first place.
OK, its all coming back to me . I've never seen that kit in person before. It looks similar to the Shalako buggy, but with no headlights. Again, not trying to slight your build, the work your doing is great. Just saying an elaborate intake like that would be better suited feeding the intake system, not the cooling system.
Thanks, that explains it much better.
-
Not to be a dick, but that air intake into the cooling system won't accomplish much. The cooling fan runs off the back of the generator, you can't force more air into a fan. Now, if you had the intake going into an airbox that fed the carburators, that woud work.
That's only a 36HP engine, what VW kit is this from? I'm sure you probably mentioned it, but I can't find it. The oldest 1/24 Beetle I can think of is the Gunze Sangyo '56 kit, thought it was a curbside. I'm just rambling now.
Perhaps, but fans only really help precipitate or create air flow. If the speed of the air flowing into the intake exceeds that of the fans, then the air should be forced passed the fans (actually causing them to spin faster I think) and into the cooling structure of the engine. I don't really have a lot of knowledge how air flow intakes work, this is just my understanding of the physics of air and fans. At the very least, the design of that air intake should put the intake area into clean air, reducing contaminants and hot air getting into the engine. I'm curious if you could explain this a little more so that I can understand it better.
-
Joe What kit is that? PK
That would be the WC63 Big shot 1-1/2 Ton 6x6 Personnel Carrier

Everyone's builds look awesome! I can't wait to see them all finished.

ose with question marks next to your names, you have posted to this thread but have not made it clear if you ar joining or not. I have only posted select pieces of what people have said they will work on when they started or have let me know after I made this list, and have not really gone through and updated what you guys are actually working on. I counted 115, including the names with question marks.
If you guys email me what your building and the name of it, I will keep an updated list of who is working on what that I can post each week or two. Email me your name as it appears in my list or if you are not on the list and want to be (and if you are on the list and aren't participating), let me know at Uberdeath322@gmail.com. Any other info you want included in the list, let me know.

You just need to copy the image location (right click copy image location) and use the image icon (row two, 11th icon to the right in the editing options for posts) to paste the link into your post. Granted these are tinier quality than what photobucket allows, but it works. If you want larger images, in photobucket, if you hover over the image, it will pop up several options below it. Just click on the link in the direct link field and it will copy the image to your clipboard. You can then add it to the post in the same way as every other photo. As can be seen below here:

So where are yall getting the off road tires at?
I think they are getting the tires from ebay if I am not mistaken. They are 1/64 hotwheels monster truck tires if I remember what I have read correctly.

Would be interested in any comments as I contemplate this ...
I like it. For your passenger gun and cover, thing about a level (to the ground) gun and a cover that comes up at an agle with the gun built into it so that it is level and flat (again to the ground) around the gun, but the rest of it slopes up to the top. I think this would look really cool.

If I am not mistaken the August 1st date is to be a part of the diorama that the doc built. If this is wrong, I apologize.
