and
and a few more to come...............

No Jack I just washed it in warm soapy water, rinsed it off and polished it with car polish. Then decalled it and sprayed on three coats of gloss clear.
-
Well yes Ray, I think a quick going over with some matt clear should sort that out!
-
and two more of the decals going on.........
So far so good! I hope to have some more tomorrow............
-
and just a few more.......

I think that was on the beach in Cabo Verde.

I bought this kit off of ebay recently, it's a 90's kit, both parts and decals are in superb condition. I am though pleased that tyre decals have improved as these are rub on backwards rather than new waterslide. (I'm glad that they supplied a few extras as I'm not good at looking through the backing paper, to position the decal)

Thanks for sharing the pics peter31a. It's nice to see what's going on over the pond at the shows.

Hi Dingo5162, Well I'm into Meyers Manx buggies at present, having just posted one on 'kit reviews'. My next will possibly be just covered in carbon fibre decal and fit a Corvair motor! I've got a Nissan Touring Car and a resin Holden Clubsport to convert to a V8 Supercar with Valvoline decals from the Partsbox.

I also saw them built here in the UK under licence in the early 70's, I was running my second beetle at the time, but already had a family so it wouldn't have been a practical option. I later though built other kit cars over 5 years but not VW based ones. Oh yes I've just got a second one in the post about an hour ago. Now how shall we build this one?
-
It's a pity we don't have this Future/Pledge floor shine in the UK, we could make ours look better too!

Cheers Bob, yes I'm ordering another today, possibly for a turbo Corvair motor and lowered stance! I don't know yet, I'm just about to go through my picture files to see any real ones I'd like to copy. But as VW's (aircooled) go I've got a camper and pickup on the shelf and a Karmann Ghia with a few 911 Porsche's and a 356 on back-order.

Thanks guys, it was a fun build. Brizio the colour is new from Humbrol, in their Multi-Effect spray can range, it's Gold! Their Multi-Effect means Pearl, so it changes colour as you walk round it in the sunshine, and it was very sunny here yesterday when I took the pics. (It's pouring with rain today!) The only change I made was to scratchbuild a road muffler from alloy and plastic tube.
Geoff I'm about to order another today, and perhaps put in a Corvair turbo motor with lowered front end with big and little wheels (like road drag).

I've just finished this in the Kit Reviews section.........and with my other V Dub engined kits....
Enjoy.

These are of the finished kit and some of my other VW aircooled kits......the Empi Imp was a glue bomb and the single seat racer a Scale Equipment Ltd resin kit......
Enjoy!

Here are some of my last pics on this build. I have painted the five spokes dark matt grey as I like to see American Racing Mags...the later two pics are of the finished model...............
And the last three to come............
-
And the last pic for today is...........fit the fuel filler cap.......
and I hope to do some more tomorrow after the Bahrain F1 race is over.
-
Thanks for the tip Bob. Here's today's efforts, firstly fit the body and ensure the new muffler is out of the way.....
Fit the fuel tank and rear 'seats' (they don't look too comfortable)......
-
Just four more pics, I saw the kit muffler to be a bit small and weedy so I scratchbuilt an new road muffler from alloy and plastic tube and some heat bending................
Ans I fitted the seats and grey carpet (did it come with the kit?) and popped the body on to have a look...............
See you soon...........
-
And three more front shots near the armco or not as the case maybe...............
as you can see the front has already had a few scrapes! enjoy...................

Hi dingo5162, after building the Skoda it needs to be tested on a stage so here we are..................

TooOld, the distributor is from an ebay guy in the UK, but you should be able to get them easier in the USA, cause they come from Morgan Automotive Detail (madmodeling.com) Westland Michigan. They have all sizes all colours 4, 6 & 8 cylinder and lots more.
