  1. The future of the modling hobby is a home 3d printer. It is going to change everything. You can print out whatever parts you want to build.
  2. Why not make the models you want? I drove this car as a kid and want a 1/32 scale one to make into a slot car. I have been trying to find all the 1/32 scale cars I can to convert, like these; But a lot of cars are not made in 1/32 scale. So I am going to make my own. I have a little workshop where I make some stuff for my other modeling hobby, wargaming models. http://proxiemodels.blogspot.com/ Cars are going to be a challenge, but I am working on it very slowly. I want to make several different cars in 1/32 scale and put them on the track. This one is actually first up- Lots to do.
  3. I run a mail order web site and shipping under 13 ounces is first class the same price just about every where. Over 13 ounces the price varies depending on location. I lose a little money on stuff going to the western US and make a little on the local stuff. I figure it all works out OK. I always use first class or parcel post and never had complaints about slow service. Overseas shipping is very expensive and I have been losing my shirt on it. I had to set the prices up on my website and when I get to the post office I am shocked. I just doubled all overseas shipping costs to stop this. If you stay under 4 pounds you can go international first class, and I just split a 5 pound package to Australia into 2 smaller ones and saved about $20. Over 4 pounds requires international priority and that is crazy expensive. Sellers should try and charge as close to actual shipping costs as possible.
  4. Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and found this place because I am looking for info on where to find out what is coming from compaies in the future. I am interested in building 1/32 scale bodies for slot car racing and a lot of the cars are simply not made anymore or were never made. I picked up a few die cast vehicles to try to make resin bodies for the track, but options are limited there as well. I have been looking into getting a 3d print done of specific cars that are very interesting to me. This is quite expensive and time consuming, I am figuring it is going to take a lot of work and about $200 to get a decent body done. I was looking into a Falcom XB and a friendly guy on the internet informed me that Scelextics is going to produce one this year. This has me reluctant to invest the time and money when a pro kit would cost so much less and be better. Currently working on a 1970 Mercury Cyclone and plotting a 1972 Gran Torino. If there is a place that has rumors of what is becoming available in 1 32 scale die cast or model kit or slot car it would be really nice to know. This way I do not waste hours of work and a ton of money making those bodies. Thanks in advance.
