  1. So, Ive been thinking I would like to build a early GTO some day. Out of the 3 which one is the best one for a shelf model. An opening hood is nice if the V12 is accurate but not mandatory . Im more concerned with overall body shape . When I look in the case I want to see a nice looking early Ferrari GTO Italeri ?Testors ?Fujimi ? I would prefer a 1/25th scale but it doesnt look like thats possibile .
  2. I believe the 72 Missile Cuda was found next to a garage. ( sorry, dont remember where though) There was a rather lengthy discussion about it over on Moparts.com a few years back . Then owner turned down numerous offers over the years ( it was no secret to several people. ) The car has since been pulled and restored . And this apparently just in the past few years, but no idea who owns it now .
  3. Have had it happen several times. Best one was coming from Tennessee to KY , but went to California 1st, then a day in Michigan , from there to North Carolina finally to KY. Took almost 10 days , when it should have been 2 days TOPS. Thank god for tracking or I would have blew a gasket with the seller . Once it made it ,,,it was all good and we both got a good laugh out of it in the end. A few years back when I was doing a lot of 1/1 restoration parts selling. I mailed 2 boxes same day. One to New York , the other one to Australia. The Australia one got there 1st by about 2 days ,,,,go figure.
  4. Paypal via goods and services . They have until about a week before Paypals deadline to deliver . At that time I file a non delivery of goods claim. I got screwed big time over a fraud buyer on ebay about 6 or 7 years ago. Sold him 3 cars worth $450 , He filed a damaged claim ,,,he then sent back 2 completely different cars worth about $30 on a good day . Paypal could care less, He insured them for the full $450 , which makes me have to sign at delivery . But once I opened it up and saw what he'd done. I told Paypal and even sent them pictures of what I sent him and what he sent me,,,,Paypal basically gave me tough chit reply. So yes im not a paypal advocate I refuse to send payment via friends and family method on a 1st time transaction. Its goods and services or I''ll pass on the whole deal.
  5. I didnt know that. I have the ones for the 67-68 Air Lift Rattler car. And have a 70 Cougar builder I want to do as the pro stock car. But ive never seen the decals advertised anywhere before . I'll get in touch with him . Thanks
  6. I've got the unpainted figures out of the Futura and probably the Club De Mer . Also have the above mentioned 1928 Lincoln and 1959 Ford retracatable kits. ,,,,,.I'll trade them all for just the Standing Dick Landy and standing Linda Vaughn figures I want to recreate something like this in 1/25th scale
  7. his are for the 67 -68 Cougar funnycar
  8. A couple new ones for the pile. A 1962 Ford builtup to do Dick Brannens super stock car And a 1958 Chrysler Imperial promo. I bought solely to part it out. Ive been lookign for a steering wheel and a pair of tail lights to fix my builder kit. Ive been lookign for the past few eyars with no luck, So just decided to buy a cheap promo or kit and part it out to get what I need and sell the remains
  9. Nice. Especially in the white. I built one a couple years ago for a friend to replicate his 1/1 car in the garage I need to build another one for me . I'm was thinking in white and no wire wheels just to be different.
  10. Glad Im not the only one who went looking for a 62 300 after seeing Steves build. I bought one a few months ago myself ( mine doesn't have the uptop though ) I've also picked up a clean original issue hardtop just because it was pretty reasonable .
  11. Use regular BMF . then go over it with a yellow sharpie' Like so
  12. Weird thing is. I got in my wifes van yesterday to go out to dinner . When I looked up to adjust the rear view mirror, I thought of Harry. Its most definitely not the same here without him. May he rest in peace
  13. If I can make a suggestion. Why not start with the real thing. Johan made one and its not terribly difficult to find ( they're all over ebay ) The body of it is far and away superior than anything AMT has ever done with this body style . A nice unbuilt will set you back in the $50 - $60 range , give or take a few dollars either way ( patience is key to get it much cheaper than that though ) Ive seen some sell for more, but I wouldnt pay that for one , just keep an eye peeled for one and you WILL get one. Decent builtups can be had for usually under $30 , maybe $40 tops. Just in the past year Ive bought 2 and paid $50 for each. Both kits still factory sealed ( since been opened though ) Ive got several ( none for sale ) so my opinion may be jaded slightly.
  14. Ive got decals to redo them all. And with recent issues with Fred Cady decals on another car. I'm thinking the decals are getting old . Thus why I'm even thinking about these cars at this point. As I had no plans to redo them anytime soon . All my decals are in a magnetic photo album storage book.. But some are approaching 20 years old now. Even though thats where the sheet for my Bob Ford Thunderbolt build was. I liked to never got them to stick to the car during this past winters build of it . ( I had similar issues with some older Slixx decals a couple years ago ) In the back of my mind, I'm thinking open them up. Strip , repaint, do the decals and clear. Dry assemble them and put them back in the case for another day to fully complete. But part of me says just finish them now and be done with them . Yet part of me says leave them alone and deal with any issues IF they arise someday down the road . BUT, will fresh decals still exist in 5 , 10 or even 15 years IF I need them .
  15. Thanks , I bought them a few years ago and these are the only one I have of each one. so sorry to report but not for resale. The duster needs redone as the semi gloss almost flat black exterior just looks bad . The Cuda seats were painted yellow and the glue on the glass and is the main reasons I'm leaning towards a tear down to redo it . Its not bad at arms length but up close you can see its an OLD build . The body isn't painted as its molded in black . And looks almost out of place in the case with the rest of them . The Missle Duster next to the Cuda in the case is a diecast of the 1972 Duster. The 1973 car above is the one that needs done is to the far right ,,, next to the S+M Duster
  16. Ive noticed this . I have several old builtups where the rims show no signs of issues. Yet on some the outer edge / lip of the rim is completely melted away . I doubt its been around long enough to know one way or the other ,,,,but I wonder if a couple coats of Future would help prevent it .
  17. Ive got parts stripped for maybe a dozen ( ok probably / maybe / definitely more ) kits . From bumpers to wheel covers . Do I send them stripped and unmounted ? Whats the average turn around time ? I realize this one may be a loaded question,,,,,,as I assume thats load dependent on any given point in time . How or do we make payment before hand , or is there an invoice sent once completed ? Trying to streamline the time delays .
  18. Ive got a few early 60s builtups where the wheel is melting around the edge where it meets the tire. I even have a few early 70s funnycars with the same issue ( them it seems to be on the hollow rear tires only though ) Ive heard years ago to wrap BMF around the rim will prevent it from happening in the future
  19. sweet lineup
  20. Mark, A buddy of mine has 2 or 3 of them from different model years. I know he has collected a boat load of parts for them over the past 30 years. But dont know if either of his actually run without at least some amount of effort. But the ones he has are 100% complete,,,for some reason I keep thinking at least one of his is NOS still in the crate .( Ill have to ask next time we meet for lunch ) He has a Chrysler boat as well but I dont know of anything close enough to use a base to build it in 1/25th scale ( I am aware of the one in 1/20th scale ,,I used to have one but it looks huge behind a 1/25th scale model . So I sold it ) His car and the model I gave him this winter I want to put the trailer behind .
  21. My quandary. I have a builtup MPC 1972 Mopar Missile Cuda and the 73 Duster. I bought a bunch of old drag car builtups a few years back via Ebay and these 2 are from that bunch . So they have no sentimental value to me. The Cuda is the better of these 2 ,,,and it makes an OK display case piece the way it sits, just not as nice as I would like it to be . If it was in a case by itself I would just open it up, paint the seats black and put it back together. BUT its not !!!!!, its in a case with several others . The Duster on the other hand is painted a semi gloss , almost flat black which is obviously wrong and just looks bad . So that one I'm thinking just take it apart to redo the exterior with new decals and put it back together. The Cuda is another story. I'm on the fence and cant decide to leave it or redo it . The Cuda is the only one I have so to build an all new one would require me to purchase another one. That brings up the issue,,,what to do with the one I have So, do I take it apart for a complete makeover OR just repaint the exterior with new decals and back in the case. OR leave it as is and buy / build another one . Keep in mind I don't do contests so that's out of the equation . My issue is at some point back then these were some ones pride and joy. 2 of the others from this purchase I plan to leave alone. An Arlen Vanke 72 Duster and a Eddie Schartman Maverick pro stock They're not as nice as I can do,,,,,but not bad enough I feel like I NEED to take them apart either. The last one from this purchase is the Sox and Martin Duster. The decals on it are a mess and its just plain falling apart , plus there's no engine in it so its slated for a redo at some no matter what.
  22. I think I know the answer to this. But anyone know if there was and / or is a source for one of these. I needs to be in 1/25th scale . A good friend of mine owns a few of them and Ive already built a replica of his 1968 Coronet RT convertible . And I have a couple of the old MPC U-haul it trailers. And thought building it with one of these snow runners in it would be kinda neat as a display for his cabinet . my gut tells me I'll have to scratch build the entire thing
  23. If you changed the background behind it or the mat it sits on , You wouldn't be able to tell if it was the real car or the model
  24. I built mine over the winter. Been wanting to do It for years. Once it got going I couldn't stop. Now that its done....ita one of my favorites in the case.
