Two questions: 1. Has anyone tried to mate (can you say this on the forum?) an old MPC Petty Roadrunner body with a Salvino's Charger frame, engine, etc? We all know that the original MPC stuff wasn't that great. 2. Does anybody make reproduction decals for said Petty Roadrunner? Thanks!

The other day I was going through my "built before becoming a teenager" stash and ran across a Richard Petty Charger, molded in Petty blue and black. It looks like I didn't bother to paint it, just slapped it together and put the decals on. I thought it was a Johan, but now I'm thinking MPC. Anyone have a recollection of this kit? And who made it? Thanks John

I bought this model on ebay from USA. The wheels were too small, the decals were dust and the wheelopenings where wrong, but it is a SUPERBIRD. It also stand much too tall in the front. I grinded away the exhaust, fixed the wheelopenings, added details to the suspension, made a quickfilleropening and detailed the engineroom and interior. Ihavn´t put on the sponsordecals yet because I want that "right out of the store"-look. I built the daytona back in 1971 out of an MPC box. That one was for real and I built i right out of the box. Now I become happy every time I look at those two "winged Wonders".

Just thought I would post this very quick build. This kit is manufactured by Zvezda(Moscow,Russia),whom I've never heard of.It's a snap together,in 1/43 scale.Picked it up because I really enjoyed the movie and also am a fan of Richard Petty.Build time was about fifteen minutes!
